In Touch With Your Spark
Date of Scene: 22 January 2020
Location: Training Simulators
Synopsis: Skyshredder, Prowl, Jazz, and Juris have conversations in the training sim.
Cast of Characters: Prowl, Jazz, Juris, Skyshredder

Prowl has posed:
Prowl and Jazz are overseeing a group marksmanship practice session in the training sims at the Decagon tonight. Several new recruits are in attendance, and even some veterans and others who aren't quite -fresh-, but everyone could use practice, right?

So of course, the SiC is the one doing most of the criticizing, while Jazz is the one likely doing most of the encouraging. See, it all works out just like that.
"You're too tense. Relax your servos, make sure your vents are clear so your cycles don't throw off your aim."

Jazz has posed:
Jazz rolls his optics, "You'll never hit -anything- like that.

"Focus. Get in touch with your ..spaaaarrrrkkk...yeah..feel it. Then pull the trigger."

He sips on his ener-tea and glances slightly at Prowl.

Skyshredder has posed:
She is a bit late, but as she is still a pretty new recruit, Skyshredder comes stomping into the sim. She is not really a ranged weapon kind of shark, but training never hurts anyone and she does still have to make up for making the Autobot officers look bad at Optimus's speech. She grins her sharky grin as she walks in and gives quick and rather casual salutes to the two officers. "Heya! Nice to see you mechs again! Private Skyshredder, reporting for training as ordered!"

Prowl has posed:
Prowl arches a brow at Jazz, but doesn't say respond to the comment. He looks up when the noticeably bulky private stomps in. Oh, -that- one. He pushes a few keys on a control panel, bringing up several spherical holo-targets that start to move in circular patterns. "You had better get to it, then."

Jazz has posed:
The Sky Shark. OOoOOooo

"Hey Bot. Good to see your face. Let's get this thing started," he takes a sip of his tea.

"I for one do not know what Prowl here has planned but either way, it should be challenging. I will help if you need," but he doesn't move, he takes another sip.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder nods as Prowl summons some new targets for her to use, then she pulls a holdout pistol. Which...seems to be the only ranged weapon she has. She takes a few shots with it. Her aim isn't bad, but not the greatest either. And the shots are noticably weak. She growls lightly. "...never did like this thing..." she says, then pulls out sword. Her big, shark-toothed sawsword. She swings it around her head once as she clicks a button on it, and the sword's saw chain unhooks at one end before she snaps it about like a whip and tries to hit those targets again. The chain-whip stretches surprisingly far and she is able to maneuver it to hit more than one target at a time!

Prowl has posed:
The whip lashes out and strikes each target. They chime fade from view. But Prowl shakes his head. "I already know you know how to handle melee weapons, Private." he says, crossing his arms. "What you need to hone, is your marksmanship skills with ranged weaponry. Start with the standard issue Path Blaster." New targets appear, and start moving about in a similar fashion.

Jazz has posed:
Jazz shrugs looking at Skyshredder then give a gesture to Prowl, "I think on this one..the boss is right. Let's see."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder grins at the pair after her whip hits its marks and looks pretty proud...for the few seconds it takes for Prowl to insist she use the blaster. Her grin fades and she lets out a rather childish 'nnngh...' before she puts away her sword and pulls the pistol again. "Alright alright..." she says, then mutters some nearly inaudible things about vehicle bots and their obsession with guns. In her day they either ate their enemies or breathed on them! Still, she isn't a bad shot. She just obviously prefers her whip to her pistol, and her systems don't seem designed to optimize energy weapon use. She takes a few shots, then peers at her handiwork before looking at the pair. "How's that?"

Prowl has posed:
The bolts hit most of the targets, though not all of them. Still, it's not bad. "Not bad. But it could use improvement." Prowl answers. "But perhaps these targets are too elementary for you. They are typically utilized by cadets at the academy." he says, dismissing them. "Maybe you need a real sparring partner." At this, he glances around the room full of other recruits, although most of them seem a bit scrawny for her, to be honest...

Juris has posed:
Abruptly, the doors of the training simulator slide open and permiss the only female Autobot rotary, Juris. Upon arriving, she steps over to where Skyshredder is, and observes the pink shark's marksmanship silently, her expression unreadable. After a moment, she turns to Skyshredder, arms folded.

"Not the worst performance I've seen," she says dryly, "but I know marksmanship isn't necessarily your weakness," she says.

She makes her way over to the console that controls the sim chamber, regarding Jazz with a slight nod (Prowl will get unfortunately ignored). She then begins browsing through various training programs.

Jazz has posed:
Jazz stomps, "NO! We will not be NOT giving a greeting to Prowl," he sips his ener-tea as a cool down.

Then to Prowl, "She hit most of them ..what more are you going to ask for?"

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder's grin returns as the other three admit that she did alright against the targets. Juris gains the big shark femme's attention though and she looks Juris over before giving the same casual, not-at-all-sharp salute she gave Prowl and Jazz. "Hey there, Juris! You sound as...uh...cheerful as ever!" she says, trying to maintain her positivity even with the femme who obviously doesn't like her much standing right there.

Skyshredder looks to Prowl again after that. "Ooooh. I'm always up for a good match! I'm no Sky Lynx, but I think I can give you guys a run for your shanix." She punches one hand into the other palm to show her enthusiasm.

Prowl has posed:
"Me?" Prowl arches a brow. "Oh, I highly doubt that." It's not bragging, just a simple statement of fact based on statistics. Then Juris walks in, decidedly ignoring him. "Oh? you know her weaknesses? Well, why don't you show us what they are, Juris?" he challenges.

Jazz has posed:
Jazz optic rolls cause clearly no one was talking to him, "Do you have a simulation that will work best for you or will you be fine...here in the training simulation?"

Juris has posed:
Juris gives Jazz a mildly exasperated look. "I don't really think it's your business to dictate how I conduct myself on a personal level," the female rotary replies dryly.

She nods slightly at Skyshredder's overly exuberant greeting, continuing to scroll through the simulations.

"Agility," she says frankly with a shrug, stopping scrolling to choose an agility training sim from the console. If Skyshredder looks over her shoulder, she'll notice this programs is ranked as difficult.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder just grins more at Prowl. "I'd be happy to test those doubts sometime, sir!" she says, then looks at Jazz. "And you too, sir! I've heard you're pretty dangerous in the field!" she says before turning back to Juris. "Agility? Psh. Of course I have dificulty with agility! Have -you- tried turning on a diode when you weigh as much as a transport?" she says, snickering a bit. "But, I'm agile enough to chow down on a Decepticon!" she says.

She notices the difficulty level of the incoming simulation and whistles. "Wow. Hope you aren't expecting much on this one!"

Prowl has posed:
Prowl shoots Juris a sharp look. "'Personal level' aside, maybe you should watch how you conduct yourself in the presence of a superior -officer-." he says tartly, glancing between her and Jazz.

"Agility, of course--I'm assuming this means you consider -yourself- to be more agile." he remarks. "Well why don't you prove that to us?" The S.i.C watches as she starts to boot up a scenario.

Jazz has posed:
Jazz also frowns at Juris for making him taking the side of Prowl.

He crosses his arms and leans agains the nearest wall, "Whatever he says," he tosses a slight head movement towards Prowl.

Juris has posed:
Juris doesn't reply to Prowl or Jazz. Instead, she turns to Skyshredder as the simulation boots up. "I don't weigh as much as a transport, so no, I haven't. But have a go at this sim, and let me know what you think about your agility afterwards." She takes a step back, arms folded.

The simulation fades into view, and Skyshredder will find herself surrounded by a seemingly endless field of floating mines. And about a few hundred metres in front of her is a miniature Decepticon spy drone, lazily weaving in and out between the suspended grenades.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder looks between the mechs and femme as the program loads up, then scratches her head lightly. "Well...this isn't really a personal situation, is it? It is more of a professional situation, so...I think he kinda can tell you in this case?" She doesn't sound certain though. Primus knows Skyshredder isn't good with protocol.

Once the sim is loaded, Skyshredder transforms to her shark-mode. She'll probably be lucky just to fit between the floating explosives, much less bob and weave through the course and catch the drone! "Here we go!" she exclaims with a sharky grin before she sets off. Her speed is good! ...which probably doesn't help her agility at all.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder gets rather lucky though! Her natural side to side 'swimming' motions seem to shift her just enough to avoid most of the hazards, and her speed should let her catch the drone fairly easily!

Prowl has posed:
Prowl watches with mild interest. "It seems your 'difficult' scenario wasn't so difficult after all, Private Juris. Perhaps you should spar with her." he suggests.

Jazz has posed:
Jazz glances at Prowl, "That all that you have to say?"

Jazz moves a bit away from Prowl to grab a different viewpoint

Prowl has posed:
Prowl arches a brow at Jazz. "What else did you want me to say? 'Great job, you're so good at this, you have a great spark?'" he makes an exasperated noise. "Please."

Juris has posed:
Juris frowns, mildly surprised at Skyshredder's wild streak of luck. She'd seen how the femme normally was, and this wasn't it. "Mine?" she says, "I didn't make this simulation, I simply picked it to see how she would do," she replies with a shrug.

"She did fine, though I have observed that isn't the norm. Perhaps," she counters Prowl, "she should take the performance analysis test after this, so that next time, we can accurately gauge her strengths and weaknesses, instead of wasting our time testing her in areas she's already proficient in." She starts to walk away.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder returns to the start and transforms again. She grins as she hears Prowl, then snickers a bit at the banter between Jazz and Prowl. "Yeah! We should spar, Juris! You obviously have some steam you need to get rid of, and I'm a good punching bag! Just don't expect me to take it easy on you if we do!" she says, clacking her teeth once and giving a wink. She tilts her head a bit at the mention of the performance analysis test. "What's that?" she asks. "You mean this wasn't one of those?"

Jazz has posed:
Jazz continues to move aroound the perimeter of the room.

He taps a button on his arm and another Mech comes in and replaces his ener-tea.

"OK. Bots. Go at it really huh?"

Prowl has posed:
"Maybe you should be a training supervisor." Prowl replies to Juris' suggestion. "Since you seem to be so good at analyzing people."

He definitely noticed Skyshredder laughing at the quip towards Jazz. Right, -so- funny. Pff.

"It was a performance, yes. But not an analysis, yet." He answers Skyshredder, as if that were obvious. Well to him it kind of is. "Whether it was a test or not depends on who you're asking, I suppose."

Jazz has posed:
Jazz backs his way to the exit. If anyone had appoached him that way. "Prowl, I have a few things to do," then he heads out.

Juris has posed:
The female rotary gives Prowl a flat look. "And maybe you should stop being so petty," she retorts, "A random stroke of luck isn't an accurate assessment of her ability. You were always so pragmatic, Prowl, I don't know why you failed this time around to see the error in your logic."

"I'm not in the mood," she says to both Jazz and Skyshredder. "As usual." To Skyshredder specifically, she says, "The performance analysis test is like an academic test, and yes, it is in text form and you must fill it out."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder deflates a bit when she hears that it is an academic test. "...eh...I'm not so good at those. I don't suppose there's a practical exam kind of thing to get exempt?" she says, scratching at the back of her head nervously. She looks to Prowl as Juris continues to be pretty snarky to him. She didn't get the 'puts up with things' vibe from him, but if he isn't saying anything she isn't about to. "Well, looks like Juris here is too scared to get in the sim with a real femme. How about you, boss?"

Prowl has posed:
"It was a compliment. Why did you assume I was using sarcasm?" Prowl states evenly. "There is no error in my logic. Luck and coincidence can only carry one so far. I suspect other factors were in play, here."

He quirks a brow at Skyshredder. "I can't pretend to know the emotions of another. If you want to spar with her so badly, why don't you convince her? Since she won't listen to me." He then follows Jazz out.

Juris has posed:
"I'm /flattered/," Juris replies sardonically, folding her arms in an exasperated manner.

After Prowl walks out, she frowns. "I can't believe he just said that. He clearly doesn't know you at all, and made a shortsighted presumption. What an idiot," she says frankly, the barest hint of emotion showing through.

"Prowl doesn't have time to invest in bettering the soldiers he was put in charge of, even though the majority of them are a hot mess."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder raises an eyeridge at Prowl. "No, uh...I meant..." Aaaand he's gone. She blinks, then shrugs. "Whadya mean?" she asks Juris. "What shortsighted persumpshun?" she asks, mispronouncing that last word. Juris's last thought gives Skyshredder pause, and she looks toward the door. "That's...not good in a leader, is it? But then, he did call us down here for some training, so...there's that?"

Juris has posed:
"Just take the performance analysis test when you can," Juris replies shortly, heading for the exit of the simulation.

The rotary gives a quiet sigh and says as she leaves, "Well. He reports directly to Optimus, how else would you expect him to behave?"

Wait, did she just throw their great and noble leader under the bus?!

Skyshredder has posed:
"Huh. So, he'd be even worse if it wasn't for working with Optimus?" the shark femme asks as she follows Juris out. Juris will probably be assaulted by more questions until such time as Juris just makes a run for it or they reach the barracks or something.
