Synopsis: Skyshredder tries racing Blurr.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Skyshredder

Blurr has posed:
Translucentia Heights, despite the war, still looks relatively untouched, and is still almost as beautiful as it was before the fall of the Senate. This place housed many of Cybertron's richest and most famous mechs, including world-renowned athletes like Blurr.

In one of the ritzy residential communities, there is a small racetrack in the courtyard. It's intended to be only for residents' use, but today the gate has been left open. And guess who has been whipping around and around it for the past few cycles? Yep, that blue streak of motion can't be anyone other than Blurr!

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder has a tendency to just wander around in her shark form, idly swimming through the air to destinations unknown. Her wandering this day brings her over the top of that small racetrack, and she looks down as she hears the racing sounds. She starts a lazy corkscrew downward and after a minute or two has come down to a couple dozen meters above the track.

When she sees it is Blurr, someone famous for his speed, she starts accelerating. She is no slouch when it comes to speed, and she starts trying to match Blurr's speed in an obviously competitive fashion. It would be pretty hard not to notice the big shark even though she hasn't said anything and her anti-grav 'swimming' system doesn't make much in the way of noise.

Blurr has posed:
Skyshredder would find that matching Blurr's speed isn't something that just anyone can do. He laps her several times, despite her being in the air and him being on the ground.

Eventually he notices her trying to follow along, and finally comes to a stop, transforming to smirk up at her. Hasn't he seen this big lug around somewhere before? "Are you -actually- trying to race me or something?" he asks, sounding somewhat incredulous.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder's tail kicks powerfully to try and keep up, but Blurr is Blurr and she actually laughs as he laps her. When he transforms and comes to a stop she swims down and transforms as well, the ground rumbling lightly with her landing. "Yeah! What fun is it to try and race someone who is slow?" she says with a sharky grin. "Name's Skyshredder. Not sure if we've met before, but even someone who spends most of her time underwater has heard of you! How come you are out here racing by yourself? You can't outrun yourself you know, doesn't matter how fast you are!"

Blurr has posed:
"Sure I can. I can outrun my previous record." Blurr chuckles. "Have to, because there isn't anyone else, at least not since a long, -long- time ago." Yeah, he's bragging, but also it's true. "And of course you've heard of me, because practically -everyone's- heard of me." Again, it's bragging, but still true. "Hey it can be funny to race a slow person. Especially if they somehow think they have a chance."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder just giggles and nods at the bragging. She doesn't mind bragging! She'd brag too if she knew she was the best! "Really? There's no challenge though if they really don't have a chance. Not like me! I have a pretty good chance! Just gotta learn how to get my big chassis to turn without losing so much speed or crashing into a wall!"

Skyshredder transforms again, then swims over to the starting line. "Come on, let's have another go! I think if we go 10 or 15 laps I could at least give you a run for your shanix!"

Blurr has posed:
"No, but like I said, it can sometimes be funny." Blurr smirks and watches her move over toward the starting line. Does she really think she can give him a 'run for his shanix'? Psh. "Not like you, eh? But you're not a terrestrial alt mode, what are you going to do, just fly close to the ground the whole time?"

Skyshredder has posed:
"Yep!" Skyshredder replies enthusiastically at the question. "Wouldn't be much of a proper contest otherwise! I'll still have to follow the track, and if I can't make the turn I get to crash just like a ground racer would!" she says, wiggling a little like an excited puppy or something. "What do you say, Blurry?"

Blurr has posed:
Blurr laughs. Well, -this- should be amusing. "Oookay then." He hits the control console and a holoscreen above the track starts a countdown. Then he transforms again and lines up at the starting point. "You must -really- be bored, mech." he remarks dryly.

    5...4...3...2...1...

Skyshredder has posed:
"I'm not bored! ...okay, I am bored. But, I like a challenge, too!" Skyshredder replies, then takes off as soon as the counter hits 'GO'! The shark is surprisingly quick off the line for her size, and perhaps Blurr underestimates her a bit in the first drag race to the first turn. "But, you must be bored too if you accepted the challenge, right?" she says as they race along.

Blurr has posed:
"Well when you are as fast as I am, at -everything-, you end up with a lot of extra time on your servos." Blurr replies. He watches her charge ahead a bit, but there are a few sharp turns and obstacles on this particular course, so he is keen on seeing how she handles those.

Skyshredder has posed:
The big shark manages to make the turn without much more than her pectoral fins causing some sparks against the pavement! And Blurr gets to see just how she does that. She kicks particularly hard when her tail is moving in the direction of the turn, curling her entire body and sort of using her tail as an anchor point to swing her big head and body and get her momentum shifted.

She makes it through the turn and is on the way down the next straight-a-way without crashing somehow, and she laughs with delight. "See?! Told you I could give you a run for your shanix!" she calls back at Blurr.

Blurr has posed:
But suddenly, Blurr isn't behind her any more. He had abruptly swerved off to the left, down a narrower section that cut a diagonal across the middle, allowing him to bypass the obstacle course entirely.

He bursts back out onto the main track, cutting directly in front of her. Yeah, he learned a few dirty racing tricks here and there, back when he was in the league. Sometimes they were permissible, sometimes they weren't.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder blinks in surprise as she realizes Blurr isn't there, then again when he comes back onto the track. Her cheerful grin turns more sinister. "Oh I see. You aren't used to someone being in front, huh? You like the win more than the challenge of the race? Well, don't think I'll just let you get away with that! Gladiators in Kaon didn't like to fight fair either, and I beat plenty of them!"

The big shark's tail kicks hard as she tries to overtake Blurr, racing headlong toward the next turn. "I get it though! Pride is important!"

Blurr has posed:
"No, you don't, actually. Strategy is part of the challenge, Starshredder. And knowing the track is part of the strategy." Blurr argues. "But as a non-racer, I wouldn't expect you to understand that."

As they approach the finish line, the speedster suddenly drops behind her slightly, then transforms and vaults upward, attempting to grab onto her dorsal fin and 'ride' her to the end.

Look, when you're bored, you have to get creative.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder thinks she is just about to overtake Blurr when...he suddenly transforms and leaps up onto her back! If this was a real race, it would make quite an epic finish, or perhaps a good poster ad for Blurr's races. She doesn't seem to mind though, and actually laughs again. "I guess so! I'm not a racer, but it seems like fun!" she says as they come out of the turn.

She puts on as much speed as she can, hoping to give Blurr some enjoyment or at least alleviate his boredom. He's fast and races all the time, sure. But riding on something like this often gives a different thrill!

Once she crosses the line and slides through the air to finally stop almost at turn one again, she hees in a sort of child-like way. She obviously had fun. "Skyshredder! I can't shred stars yet, but Jazz said I could ask Starlock about it! Maybe see if my flight system can be made to work in space! Wouldn't that be cool?! Just swim through space, like the entire universe is one big ocean!"

Blurr has posed:
Blurr jumps off and lands gracefully on his feet once Skyshredder comes to a stop. He shrugs at the comment about racing being fun. "Racing in and of itself, sure. But all the baggage that came along with it wasn't always." he says, sighing. "Even if it looked like it."

"Oh right, right. Sky Shedder, sure." he replies dismissively. "Well I'm going back inside. I guess I'll see you on base sometime."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder looks somewhat confused at what Blurr says. "Baggage?" she wonders aloud, but then waves a fin when Blurr says goodbye. "Okay! And maybe we can have a sim fight when we see each other again!" she says as he walks away. Then, just like how she arrived she lazily swims her way back into the sky.

Blurr has posed:
As he's walking away though, Blurr turns around momentarily. "Oh, and by the way I -let- you get ahead." he says with a smirk. "Because otherwise I wouldn't have gotten to watch you." Perhaps, perhaps not. Either way, he's going to say it.
