Elevator Investigation
Date of Scene: 04 March 2020
Location: Armory
Synopsis: Skyshredder, Sideswipe, and Swivel jump down a gravlift shaft at the Decagon and discover a secret floor.
Cast of Characters: Prowl, Swivel, Skyshredder, Sideswipe

Prowl has posed:
It is a typical day at the Decagon, down in the Armory sublevels where Autobot rank and file are always coming and going, refilling on munitions, charges, shields, fulfilling weapon requisitions requests, whatever it may be. But today, the wait for the gravlifts is extra long, because one of them is out of commission and has yellow warning holograms in front of it. A sign indicates that maintenance is working on it, but it has been like that for a whole megacycle already. Some 'bots are beginning to complain, naturally. "The frag is taking them so long? I'm sick of waiting for these things!"

Sideswipe has posed:
It's one of those days where the normally impatient Sideswipe is actually being patient and not moving. His optics are over on all those carts with weapons requisitions and parts laid out. Watching. Waiting. And looking over at those who are normally charged with having to maneuver them about. Sooner or later there will be one that isn't paying attention and.. Crank. DOOR.
Sideswipe looks over at it iwth a glare.

Swivel has posed:
Earlier Swivel had walked by and seen the lineup. And at present, she was returning from her errand. This time she slows her pace dramatically, looking at the lineup, her head tilted to the side as she listens to the grumbles and the murmurs. She glances at the hologram outside of the inoperational gravlift. And then, a certain familiar Sideswipe catches her optics. Or rather, it's the intense stare he has. She follows the direction of his glare, and then looks back at him. She doesn't approach him right away. She just steps aside to be out of the way of the congested foot traffic, watching all that is going on. Watching. And listening. Oh, does she listen.

Skyshredder has posed:
With one gravlift out and the other getting overworked, Skyshredder has been waiting in line with the rest. Why is she trying to get to the armory? Well...she just likes to look at the fancy toys! She doesn't really have much use for them herself, what with her low intelligence and lack of technical skills, but they are sure fun to watch during testing.

And the explosion that happened last time she was down there is practically forgotten! But, as the line drags on and on she starts getting impatient. She spots Sideswipe and Swivel and gives both a wave before she finally stomps her way to the front to look down the shaft of the apparently broken gravlift. "Hey, I know how I can get down!" she says before...leaping down the shaft. Her anti-grav system engages and slows her fall, but she is still going fairly fast. Apparently she has assumed that broken lift means no platform in the shaft.

Prowl has posed:
More grumbling ensues when someone operating a cart bumps into a group of mechs waiting for the one operational gravlift. Seems he'd had the speed up too high and couldn't stop the thing in time.

Some people are opting to take the stairs, or hover up or down the stairwells if they have the capability and aren't too big to attempt flying around in the narrow space and aren't trying to carry a load like the guy who just mis-maneuvered a cart.

Then Skyshredder stomps up and just...forces her way past the warning holos, pushes the doors open and jumps into the shaft. "H-hey! Don--!" Someone shouts in warning, but it's far too late.

Indeed, when Skyshredder leaps into the shaft, she'd find that there is a lot of exposed wiring sticking out of the walls, much of it sparking with high voltage. At the speed she's going, and her size, she'd brush against one of them, sending a major jolt through her chassis. It actually feels kind of like Blurr's TechVolt, really. Fortunately, even if she falls, the elevator itself actually wasn't too far below her, and she'd land fairly hard on it, althought not hard enough to break any connections.

Sideswipe has posed:
Plans of stealing some guns while the elevator was held up over are put on hold for now as Sideswipe sees another Autobot going down. "Hey!" He goes to look over at Skyshredder going down it and then he's moving over towards one of the hanging carts over to try and quickly fiddle with it. HOpefuly 'accidentally' knocking the maintenance tech over that was already trying to watch at the giant shark going down the hole, then Sideswipe is going to try and hotwire it to drag the thing over to see if he can use ti to try and help get the other Autobot out. He's helping!
And also at the same time hiding the fact he was here purely to try and get some explosives. It's a start at least! That will at least hopefully get him some energon points! And give an opening to steal guns later.

Swivel has posed:
And everything happens all at once. Skyshredder prying the doors open against warnings not to, and then Sideswipe not-so-valiantly tryng to help her. WHich, probably is just adding to the problem. Swivel can barely get out a few halted syllables in protest before she gives up trying to call things to order. Swivel walks over to the maintenance mech that Sideswipe had tossed aside, helding him to his feet if necessary. She then looks up from the mech to Sideswipe with a much less kind expression that she'd given him before. "Sideswipe! You aren't helping. Back away." As for Skyshredder, well, it will be for the medical team to see to her if necessary. Knowing she can't do anything for the shark, she doesn't rush to the now open shaft. Instead, she's keeping an optic on Sideswipe.

Skyshredder has posed:
"Wheee-e-e-e-e-e-!" Skyshredder's voice starts out as a child-like joyful sound, and is soon a stuttering, spasming sound as she hits wires and finally a thud follows as she crash lands on the stuck lift. She lands in heap and shudders before shaking her head to clear her processors. "Woo! What a rush!" she says, her voice echoing up the shaft.

Followed soon after by another 'clank!' as that cart comes falling down followed soon after by an, "Ow!"

Sideswipe's aim might have been to just toss the cart down to her, but with his bad aim it was actually -at- her instead. She giggles after, then tries to get up only to fall onto her aft again. "Woah. Might need a reset after that. I feel like I drank a few Uranium Bombs! Have you guys ever had those down in the more shady bars? They're neat! All green and glowy and super strong!"

Seems she isn't too upset by all of this.

Prowl has posed:
"HEY!" The mech cries when Sideswipe knocks him aside. How rude! But he nods in appreciation as Swivel offers him a hand up. He goes back over to the open doors into the shaft and peers down, along with several others who had witnessed the event. "She gonna be okay?" Someone asks.

Sideswipe's efforts result in the cart getting flung into the shaft, and it goes clattering down with a cachophony of metal against metal, until it clanks onto the top of the elevator where Skyshredder is. Several other soldiers watch it fall, then arch a brow at Sideswipe because what the slag was that for? "You know, if you were going for trying to pull her back up, I think you forgot the part where you need something to get it back up here with."

As for Skyshredder, she might notice that her position on top of the elevator is lined up with a set of doors in the wall that are partially open. But these doors don't look like the normal doors that are typically used to enter one of the armory floors from the gravlift. They're narrower, and they appear to be located -between- levels.

Sideswipe has posed:
You need something to pull them UP. Lesson learned. Also probably actually they could have just used a rope to pull her up without the cart. Sideswipe glares at anyone trying ot properly instruct hin, "Thanks, the more you know tin cans. Way you're telling me it's half the battle." The other half being blue and red lasers of course as the ancient mantra went. He does however listen to the order and go away from the door. Technically he's doing what he's told!

Even while he makes a very rude gesture over at the other mechs out of their optic line of sight. Then he calls out to Skyshredder, "So what's down there?" Is that where PRowl buries the bodies? Where Ratchet keeps 'the good stuff'?

Swivel has posed:
A small look of relief can be seen crossing Swivel's face when she hears Skyshredder's voice. However, with so many people around, she doesn't feel the burden falls on her to reproach the shark-femme. However, she does continue to watch Sideswipe. So the rude gestures aren't missed. They aren't remarked on, though. There's just a sigh.

Suddenly, Swivel claps her hands to try and get attention. "Alright, alright, those who aren't maintenance personnel, get away from the shaft. Make room. Those who can use the stairs or have small loads, do so. You've had your peek. Now move along. Those who aren't part of the solution are part of the problem." Swivel stands, motioning to idle onlookers that don't seem to be carrying anything, catching their optics as much as possible, and pointing towards the stairs. She begins ding her best to direct the flow of foot traffic, using constant verbal instructions as well as gestures.

Sideswipe, thouogh, gets pointed at. "You, stick around."

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder is thinking about floating up the shaft again when she notices that door. She looks at it a moment before moving closer to try and look through the opening and see what she can see. "Maybe! There's some weird doors down here! They don't really look like the lift doors! And they are kind of close to the next set of doors!" she says. She sounds like she is just humoring Sideswipe, but someone with actual brains might find that odd.

Skyshredder has another thought process though. There are shocking wires up there, and there are almost open doors here, and presumably stairs somewhere on this floor. So, she grips the doors and tries to force them open. "I'm gonna see if I can get to the stairs from here!" she calls up to the others. "Getting shocked like that is fun once, but I probably shouldn't do it again." she says with a bit of a laugh.

Prowl has posed:
As Swivel starts to herd everyone away, the other gravlift that -is- operational chimes and opens. The very full elevator empties out, and those who had been waiting the longest are eager to get their turn so they needn't be told twice to quit loitering about. Sideswipe's comments are ignored.

When Skyshredder pries at the partially open doors, metal groans, but they don't budge quite enough for her to get through. There is a security panel near it, that looks like it was designed to interface with something on the gravlift door. Three smell pinpricks of light are flashing across it.

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe goes to open his mouth to say something to someone else, then he hears the command from Swivel, "Sure." He calls out to Skyshredder, "So what's down there!" Right over as he hears 'doors'. "How far you down?" That shouldn't be to the underlevels fo the decagon and as far as Sideswipe knows all of the levels of the Decagon are supposed to be uniform in construction due to the obsessive programer-pulsive of the architects who made it.

Not saying 'this is Skyshredder' he turns to Swivel. "Uhm, everywhere in the Decagon is supposed to look the same. If she says that the doors don't look like the lift doors tht'd be strange. This place is -boring-. And the Decagon's always being used so it's not like ti's an abandoned area and it shouldn't go deep enough to go to the underlevels." Sideswipe -wnts- to jump on down to check it out from hi stone of vocalizer.

Then he hits on another tack. "Do you really want her exploring around to try and find her way up?" Even as the sound of things tearing but not -quite- grinding fills the air.

Swivel has posed:
With new people showing up, she assigns someone else the role of keeping people moving along and giving the broken down shaft a wide berth. She then tries to get someone higher up on maintenance on the radio. She pauses, though, listening to Sideswipe, keeping optic contact so he knows he is being heard. She thinks about it for a moment, not really saying anything to Sideswipe or even looking surprised. <<"We've got someone who has fallen into the shaft that is currently undergoing maintenance. Would it be possible to cut power to the shaft temporarily?">> She then turns to one of the workers that are still nearby. "Has anyone gone for a rope or a crane? If not, could someone please get on that?"

Swivel holds a hand out to Sideswipe, indicating for him to wait. But she does very carefully walk to the edge of the shaft, peering down. "Skyshredder, you still alright down there?" Swivel asks, while waiting to hear back regarding her request to cut the power.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder grunts with effort at trying to open the doors, then gets a rather perturbed look. "...what the slag?" she murmurs to herself. "I'm fine! But these doors are more stubborn than the doors up there!" she calls back to Swivel. She lets go of the doors then pulls out her sawsword. "Okay, maybe with this..." she says, then jams it between the doors and tries to pry them apart with it. "Open up!" she growls.

As she is prying, she does at least notice that panel. "Hey, there's some kind of panel with three little lights moving along it! Anyone have a keycard or something?"

Prowl has posed:
The doors grind and groan more, but -still-, they do not open wide enough for her to get through. It also doesn't help that she is very bulky. But the opening is probably wide enough for Swivel to get through.

<< What?? >> Would come the answer to Swivel's request on the comms. << How the slag did someone fall down there, the doors were sealed! >> Grumble grumble. << Fine, we can cut the power, but it'll be a few breems. We'll let you know. >>

One of the maintenance workers who seemed to just be standing there with a dumbfounded look on his face sort of fumbles about. "O-oh, r-right." he opens a toolbox. "Might have a cable that's long enough..." he mumbles as he rifles through. "If not, I can get a drone to bring a mini-lift."

Sideswipe has posed:
It's been a few minutes. Sideswipe is thus.. Huh. A locked door with a panel! That's trange to him. Doors down that far inaccessible other than lift normally aren't sealed. So now, the curious mech is calling out, "On my way! Don't worry, I can get it open!" And then while Swivel is just requesting that few moments for maintenance to come on and check down it, Sideswipe is leaping down the hole while she was distracted!

Presuming he could, he would be using his jet pack to help control his descent, and when he would get down near Skyshredder he would be trying to brace himself next to her. Presuming e fell that far he would gesture with a hand, "Come ahead and help hold me up? I can bust it!"

Swivel has posed:
Seeing Sideswipe just go on ahead, before she gets the notification that the power is off, alarms SWivel. Being too small to possibly fill the entrance to the shaft, she relies on another trick of hers. Out her whip comes with amazing reflex and she attempts to ensnare his legs and yank him back before he gets himself fried. Skyshredder was bigger, but the voltage might do Sideswipe more harm.

"You were supposed to WAIT!" Swivel shouts, punctuated with the crack of her whip.

Skyshredder has posed:
Okay, now it is a vendetta. Twice the doors have refused her! "Alright, that's it!" Skyshredder suddenly yells from down below. "You are going down, doors!" She transforms to her shark mode and wedges the point of her snout into the doors, then starts thrashing for all she is worth! It will likely shake the shaft a bit and cause all kinds of terrible metal on metal stress noises, but she is determined to get that door open!

Once she stops, Skyshredder blinks. "What? Did someone say cable? You guys know I can fly, right?" she calls up the shaft. "...and what was that whipping noise?"

Prowl has posed:
Finally, as Skyshredder thrashes wildly, the doors give way just enough for her to push her way through. She'd find herself in a hallway lined with large vault doors on both sides, like many of the others here in the Decagon's armory. But, if it is just like the rest of the place, why is it in such a strange location?

Unfortunately for Sideswipe, he doesn't make it to the shaft opening before Swivel's whip catches him around the pedes and pulls him back as well as sending a jolt through his frame, albeit likely not as strong as the one he may have received had he jumped down after Skyshredder.

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe is going down to try and jump.. Right as he goes to flick on his jetpack and Swivel's electro-scrambler lash goes to wrap about his lower body. There's a BZAPPT over through the air as Sideswipe hits the ground, his head going to slam over into the wall over and leaving a Sideswipe shaped dent over in it that's identical to many in Maccadam's and probably the Autobot Brig as well as his cranial unit smashes into it.

"Ughhh." The groans probably covering over as SKyshredder went to floor it through the door.

Prowl has posed:
Once Sideswipe hits the floor, another transmisison comes through for Swivel from Operations. << Right, killed the power for now. Let us know once everyone's out of there. But make it quick, this repair job has been overdue for several solar cycles. >>

Swivel has posed:
While she puts out one fire, another flares. Swivel hears Skyshredder's battle cry and doesn't really have time to facepalm. She just cringes when Sideswipe hits the wall harder than she had intended, and looks down the edge of the shaft. <<"Skyshredder, please wait!">> Swivel looks over at Sideswipe to check on him. By check on, we mean nudge with her foot. She then kneels beside him. "Sideswipe, I was working on getting the power cut. If you just would have waited..." She sighs, giving him a firm shake.

Hearing that the power is out she nods. <<"Thanks. Will update you.">> She then heads over to the edge. "Skyshredder, the power is cut, you can safely fly up here now. Leave that door /alone/." Pause. <<"And don't tell anyone else about it.">> She adds over a tight beam.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder is transforming and just about to make her way deeper into the mysterious floor when Swivel calls out and radios to her. Skyshredder blinks. "...what? Why?" she says out loud, then blinks again. "Oh, uh..." <<"...what? Why? I was just going to try and find the stairs.">> she says. Now she is curious! Why is this door a secret? Why does it look weird? And why does Swivel not want them to go inside?

But, fortunately this time curiousity doesn't kill the shark. She vents softly and pouts a bit. "Okay..." She really is trying to follow orders most of the time. She activates her anti-grav system and starts back up the shaft. She isn't quite as fast in robot form, but after a minute or so she makes it back to the top and climbs out. Then she blinks at Sideswipe. "Swipers? Are you alright?" she asks, then gasps. "Did the wires get you, too?! Don't worry, we'll get you to medical!" she exclaims, then reaches to pick him up.

Sideswipe has posed:
Looking dazed, SIdeswipe shakes his head, "Unnghh." His system finishes rebooting, "I'm fine." Whatever he has said over on the lash at him getting shocked which might be belligerent is now cut off. "Look, why would a sub level accessible only by lift have a security door sealed shut with a scan pad to get in? To get down to it you'd have to tear out the lift -and- be able to fly to go down to it, so why all the extra security on it if it's just another level. The Decagon's standard as slag and even Prowl thinks the layout is a bit linear." Prowl may not think the layout is a bit linear. But, he's said his peace here, and his nominal state of irritability is back full force. At least it's not directed over at Swivel.

Prowl has posed:
As Skyshredder is about to make her way further down the corridor, she probably heard some voices--one of them sounded pretty familiar. Is that Prowl? "...no. Get the that door back in working order -now-, then worry about the algorithm." he sounds fairly vexed. "Do I need to remind you that if this gets discovered, -you're- going to be the one--"

But the rest is not quite clear as that is about when Swivel's transmission comes in and interrupts any eavesdropping Skyshredder may have been attempting, if at all.

As Skyshredder arrives back up top, the technician Swivel had been talking to earlier finally approaches with a several kleps long cable hanging on his shoulder. "This'll probably do the--" But then it seems the problem has already been solved. "...oh."

Swivel has posed:
Swivel remains kneeled by Sideswipe. But then when Skyshredder floats out of the shaft, a hand goes to her chest and she exvents a sigh of relief. Swivel gets to her feet, but doesn't fully turn towards Skyshredder. Maybe she isn't so sure about turning her back on someone she just thwarted, even if he is an ally.

"Sideswipe should be fine, I made sure to go easy on him." Yes, she's admitting to having done that to Sideswipe. "Though you should check in with medical at some point to be safe." Swivel smiles to Skyshredder. "In fact, even though you seem to be fine, it sounded like you really struggled with that door. Maybe you should have a check-in as well to make sure no systems have been damaged. You might need a recalibration." Swivel nods. While her words sound like a suggestion, her tone sounds like a command.

Swivel tilts her head as Sideswipe speaks. She puts her hands out in a placating manner, and then hushes Sideswipe. She looks around, speaking low. "Yes, yes, it is suspicious, but things like this, you don't just barge in! I..."

And then the tech returns with the cable. She smiles and thanks him anyway. "I'll be taking that. I need to quickly head down and assess some of the damage Skyshredder did while she was down there for my reports." It isn't entirely a lie. She swore she'd report Skyshredder the next time she wrecked something.

Swivel shoos the mech off and hands Skyshredder the cable. "Don't let go of this." Swivel waits for when no one is looking. "We're going down." She says, gesturing for Sideswipe to join her.

Sideswipe has posed:
Taking a moment to glance over at the technician, Sideswipe notes, "We'll try and make sure that it's all set n this end. It'll go quicker this way." He's irritable. Normally this sort of mood is brought about by him attempting to pick a fight over with his brother.

He goes to send by tightbeam to Swivel and Skyshredder <<By the time the system is rebooted again that area will be fully secure and locked down and we'll have to bust our way in. By that point any idea of what's going on there will be gone. Sure, this is the Decagon, but Primus this hits all my tactical circuits with a real bad evaluation.>>

Glancing down over at the elevator shaft, Sideswipe then notes again verbally, "So we'll handle it from here." Then back to tightbeam <<And I'd like to know what the slag is down there too>> Sooo, even if there's nothing peculiar at all going on, it means that anything in the locked down, abandoned area is high security - which means no one will notice if it ends up missing!

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder blinks as Swivel says that she did this to Sideswipe. "Oh. Was he breaking things?" she asks, setting him down again. When she is handed the cable, Skyshredder nods. "Don't worry, I won't!" she says, then stands at the top of the shaft with the cable in hand, letting the other two climb down.

And once they are down, they might find that the cable is suddenly slack and coiling up nearby. Why? Well, Skyshredder is headed down again. She is still holding the cable! <<"I think I heard Prowl, now that you mention it. He said something about something being discovered, and that someone was going to be...something. I didn't quite catch it before Swivel started talking, but he sounded upset!">> she tightbeams to the other two.

Prowl has posed:
The tech buys Swivel's partial lie, nodding. "Oh, heh--right. Hope it wasn't too bad." he says cheerfully. "Good luck!" Then he hurries off to other duties.

Indeed, when Swivel and Sideswipe get down there, they'd find the partially open door just as Skyshredder had said, and the control panel with the lights blinking across it. Though, it actually doesn't look like it was meant to be accessed directly as Sideswipe may have thought. Instead, he looks like it was meant to interface with something else...

Swivel has posed:
<<"I considered timing, Sideswipe. But thank you for your input.">> Swivel somehow manages to say this without sounding sarcastic. However, as the cable slackens she looks up. <<"Skyshredder!">> She protests. But she then stops as Prowl is mentioned. For a moment, Swivel's optics widen as her optic ridges draw close together, lips pressing tightly together. <<"Skyshredder, you were supposed to stay up there and keep watch.">> Swivel's optics narrow as she looks at the panel and the ajar door. She gets closer, but doesn't go through. Instead, she just peers through, and listens for the sounds of anyone nearby.

Sideswipe has posed:
For once, Sideswipe's normal inclinations towards busting over in don't kick in as he's thoughtful. He goes to lean in over to try and brace himself in position over to get a better view and listen through the area. <<I can probably get you over into there easily enough.>> He's not moving to throw her or boost her in. His expression is thoughtful. Very, very thoughtful.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder blinks at Swivel. <<"...I was? Oh, uh...should I go back up?">> she asks, still holding the end of the cable. She also starts listening when the other two get quiet, and leans down closer to the doors. Finally after a moment or two of silence, she vents. <<"Aren't you going inside?!">> she exclaims into their tightbeam comms.

Prowl has posed:
It's quiet. Too quiet. The voices Skyshredder heard before are gone. It doesn't -appear- that anyone is around...yet.

Swivel has posed:
Indeed. It is too quiet. Swivel seems locked in where she is. It isn't until Skyshredder asks if she is going inside that the femme nearly jumps out of her armour, hands quickly covering her mouth to subdue a shriek. The femme seems oddly shaken. <<"I've a bad feeling about this. We shuold go. It's too quiet. All the noise SKyshredder made busting the door open probably... we should go, we should go now.">> Swivel says in tight beam, her tone going from a quiet, forced calm, to more worked up. Swivel withdraws, grabbing onto the cable. <<"Skyshredder, ge'me outta 'ere.">> Tug tug. <<"We're leavin we're leavin now!">>

Sideswipe has posed:
He's not sure what's up with Swivel. Sideswipe tenses. Seeing her.. He can read a sense of near panic in someone easily enough. He goes to quietly glance at her and keeps his hand brace on the wall and gives her a look meant to reassure and then speaks up to tightbeam <<Skyshredder, get her somewhere she feels like she.. Is going to be okay.>> He's not trying to talk her into staying. <<You want me along or not?>>

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder isn't sure what has Swivel so on edge, but the shark-femme isn't scared! Still, Swivel's near panic and position of authority get Skyshredder to comply. <<"Okay Swivel! Don't you worry. Whatever's in there, I wouldn't let it get you or Sideswipe, you know!">> she says, trying to be reassuring. She wraps some of the cable around her arm before starting upward again. <<"She said we're leaving. I think you're a part of we're?">> she adds for Sideswipe's benefit. <<"We're supposed to be good Autobots, after all! No breaking furniture, no disobeying orders without good reasons!">> she says, more in a heroic bravado kind of way than a scolding or angry kind of way. She smiles after that and wiggles the end of the cable. <<"Need a lift?">>

Swivel has posed:
Swivel hugs that cable tight. And while she does seem a bit reassured by Skyshredder's compliance, she is still very tense. <<"Allus're leavin'. I needj'all t'be safe.">> Then Swivel clears her vents, pushing the fear out of her tone, and she is once again enunciating. <<"This area is secure for a reason. If Prowl is aware, then we should not be here.">> At any rate, Swivel is intent on leaving.

Sideswipe has posed:
Now Sideswipe's interest is -definitely- piqued. But he has to put it in a way that won't freak Swivel more. <<Skyshredder, get her somewehre safe. I'm going to.. Go recon and make sure that there's not going to be anything after her. If she's really scared I want to make sure that there's nothing else in there that we have to look out for.>> Close enough to the truth. He has his own issues with Prowl and innate paranoia. So he's not going to leave of his own wishes.

Skyshredder has posed:
Skyshredder really isn't sure what they should do. Swivel says to leave, so they should do that. But, it is kind of weird and investigation is tempting, so they should do that, too. Still, she has her task and so continues upward. <<"Recon is for enemies. Prowl is an Autobot, so...do we need recon on him?">> she radios to Sideswipe. She doesn't try to force Sideswipe though. <<"Besides, if there was something after us I'd know about it by now. It is pretty hard to fool a shark's senses! I think you should really come back with us.">>

Sideswipe has posed:
Skyshredder's comment makes Sideswipe's face contort <<I'm sorry. I'm not sure that I agree on Prowl. Keep Swivel safe.>> Then flipping over just as cleanly, Sideswipe is flipping over through the hole, landing cleanly in it with his laser out in front of him, and heading along in, sweeping methodically.

Prowl has posed:
As Skyshredder saw earlier, it would -appear- that this hallway is just like many of the other hallways in the Armory--lined with large floor-to-ceiling vault doors that are secured behind access codes. But again, if it is just that, then why the secrecy? Why the extra security? It doesn't make much sense...

But wait, one of the doors is a crack open, and some light from holoscreens is leaking through.

Sideswipe has posed:
There are probably good reasons for all of these things. Legitimate, logical concerns. Unfortunately, Sideswipe can't be bothered to think of any - or even put the effort in. If it's Prowl, then it means Problems with a capital.. Whatever the first letter of the Cybertronian alphabet that's close enough to it to be. So, going over towards the door ever so carefully Sideswipe goe sto try and listen in. He's at least not -breaking- in.

Prowl has posed:
Upon peering inside, Sideswipe would catch sight of what looks like some kind of workstation and/or monitoring station. There are a series of holoscreens, many of them filled with data or code that he has no understanding of. Some of them however, seem to be connected to surveillance feeds of some kind of holding facility. There are multiple angles of a Decepticon flyer of some kind. He looks familiar. Is that...Phantom? There are words overlaid at the top of the feed that read 'Project Warrens'.

However, as he leans toward it, he pushes a bit too hard on the door, and there is a grating sound as it moves along its track. Oops.

Sideswipe has posed:
Of his lack of many traits, amongst them is 'awareness'. So, Sideswipe now has to be in a position where he can fall back with what little data he has with having probably been noticed and to pass it along up the chain.. Or the fact that ultimately he's got no sort of patience.
So, ever so calmly he goes to take out his fist and RAPS on the end of the door hard. "We have to talk." It would echo through the hall and along the door. "And you've got a decibreem to tell me what's going on before I tightbeam Optimus about your little operation."

Prowl has posed:
But before Sideswipe can even finish knocking on the door, there are footsteps behind him and Prowl suddenly comes around the corner. "Sideswipe." he says, not actually sounding angry, or even concerned or anything at all. Just his usual netural tone. "What are you doing down here? This area is above your clearance level."

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe turns over to face Prowl, "Yet, I'm down here anyways. Prime might tolerate a lot of things Prowl whether he knows about them or not. But torture of a prisoner isn't going to be up there." He's seen nothing. He has no proof whatsoever. But.. Prowl is Prowl. And that barb thrown at him will either ring true or enrage him.

Prowl has posed:
Except it won't do either. Prowl arches a brow at Sideswipe. "I'm sorry, what torture are you talking about? There are no prisoners here." He shakes his head. "Never mind. It's not safe for you here. You do not have access to this area, therefore, I can only assume you got in here by jumping down the defunct gravlift shaft, which means you ignored warning signs. I can't stress enough to you how important it is that you heed any signage posted by Operations for safety reasons. Especially when it comes to systems undergoing repairs, maintenance, or other work that you are not trained to be around."

"Now, if you do not want to find yourself grounded again and doing inventory checks, I suggest you leave the premises immediately."

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe just glances over at Prowl, "If you want to know, the door was open. It would've let anyone in. I really thought that since there wasn't anything in the way it was okay to go anywhere. I mean, anywhere that's -restricted- in the Decagon is clearly blocked off. I heard some noises going all the way up through the shaft, poked on down, saw a big open door and thought I'd look about. And then I come in and hear you talking. Word gets around." Slyly.

Prowl has posed:
"Certainly, anyone could have come in, anyone who brazenly pried open the gravlift doors that were clearly marked by warning holos." Prowl points out. Yeah, arguing with Prowl doesn't usually get much of anywhere. He sighs. "What do you want, Sideswipe? Do you want me to breach protocol and tell you -everything- that you are not authorized to know about? There is a -good- reason why we don't just brief the -entire- faction on -everything- that goes on here. Now are you going to do as I say or are you going to be stuck on inventory for the next three megacycles?"

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe leans against the wall, "That's the thing, PRowl. /You/ make those decisions. You decide who you tell and who knows what. Somehow, those always end up with just you on top of everyhting." The smashed and shorn door is not mentioned. "Who's authorized to know about them? Prime? Or do you not pass this along to him as his time is limited and better spent on other things?" Not budging.

Prowl has posed:
Prowl folds his arms. "No. -Command- makes that decision. But Prime has the final say on most matters. So no, it's Prime on top of everything, -not- me." He groans. "Look Sideswipe, if you don't trust your superiors' judgment, then I don't know why you're here. And I don't mean 'here' as in here in a room you're not supposed be in. But 'here' as in part of this organization. This is a military hierarchy, not a democracy. If you can't accept that, then you don't belong here."

There's an air of finality to the statement, conveying that -that- was the end of the discussion. He steps past Sideswipe and punches a button on the vault door, closing it shut and locked, then brushes past him on his way toward the -other- elevator.

Sideswipe has posed:
Sideswipe crosses his arms, going to look over one time at Prowl. "Someone said something about Simanzi. That the only reason they didn't think you could've been involved in it is not even /you/ could casually kill so many Bots." Sideswipe's tone is designed to bait. "We're supposed to be better than they are, /Sir/. So I'll just leave it to whether I trust -your- judgement with that. And I'll be going now." And then Sideswipe is heading back up towards the upper levels.
