Date of Scene: 30 May 2020
Location: Training Simulators
Synopsis: Nightbeat and Blurr engage in a friendly spar.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Nightbeat

Blurr has posed:
Blurr is in the simulators again, dodging and shooting at hundreds of holodrones. One goes low, he jumps up and twists through the air as the shot passes by just below him. Another from the left flank--a quick strafe. Coming out of that, he twists around and fires at a third that tries to sneak up on him from behind. It falls and explodes into holomatter pixels.

And with that, the last wave ends. He moves over to the display and checks the final score. Eh, not what he had been hoping for. But at some point trying to beat your own top score in agility rating gets old..

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat Had entered the training room about thirty seconds ago. He figured out he was getting a bit rusty in terms of combat skills and had therefore decided to head here. He didn't expect Blurr to be ther however and found himself observing the speedster as he sucessfully defeated the drones, his arms crossed. He wasn't entirely sure what to say but would give Blurr a curt nod when said bot noticed him.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr shakes his head slightly at the numbers, then turns around when Nightbeat enters. He doesn't recognize the mech, greets him amicably anyway as he dismisses the score readouts with a quick swipe across the holoscreen. "I don't suppose you're looking for a sparring partner?" he questions, smirking slightly. He counts it fairly likely that while he may not know this guy, this guy has probably heard of -him-.

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat does the Cybertronian equivalent of rising one eyebrow at what he assumed was the mech being disappointed with something. He recognized him as Blurr, a former racer who'd been pretty famous before, well, the fighting.
"I would say yes, but given the fact that you're Blurr, your speed as well as what I just witnessed would likely make this a fairly uneven match." Nightbeat stated flatly.

Blurr has posed:
"Well, hey. Those drones are never enough of a challenge though, right?" Blurr answers, chuckling. He does like a good ego stroke. "I'm sure you've wanted something a little...harder at times."

"Why don't you just try hitting me?" he encourages. "I'm the hardest it gets, after all!"

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat shrugs. "I can imagine". He himself hadn't really spent that much time here so he couldn't say much regarding the difficulty of fighting against the simulations himself.

When Blurr spoke again he gave the mech a mildly skeptical look. He squinted at the guy for a moment to try and figure out if this wasnt some kind of trick, before he did a rather un-enthusiastic punch aimed at Blurr.

Blurr has posed:
The half-sparked punch lands in the air next to Blurr's right shoulder plates, instead. "Pfff, come -on-, mech! That was a protoform punch! Don't hold back! Hit me, like -really- hit me!" the former racer laughs, goading him. "Look, if you were in a real fight, you would've been scrapped if you tried to punch like that!"

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat sighed. "If you insist." Blurr was apparently completely serious about this. Nightbeat's expression was that of mild annoyance with a touch of focus as he punches again. He's still somewhat hesitant on using actual firepower

Blurr has posed:
"I mean, how else are you going to get actual good practice?" Blurr points out. "You could tire yourself out destroying holodrones, but it'd just be a waste of time when you can get a -real- sparring partner."

"Come on, you're not even -trying-!" he laughs, sidestepping the punch again, this time attempting to grab the arm and twist in an effort to force Nightbeat off of his feet!

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat was about to come with a dry remark in return but Blurr's attack caught him off guard and he found himself lying on the floor. Alright, maybe he needed more than a 'little' practice. He got up and acted as if he was going to punch with his left hand but switched to his right hand in the last second

Blurr has posed:
"Mech, you need to get some hand-to-hand in!" Blurr taunts as Nightbeat lands on his back on the floor. But perhaps he has gotten a bit too cocky, too comfortable. Nightbeat managed to get up a bit faster than he'd anticipated.

When the detective comes up with that little feint, he tries to adjust his stance to avoid taking the hit but gets nailed in the side, causing him to stumble backward a bit. "Ha, see? Not bad! I knew you could do better than that! By the way, you got a name?"

He backs up slightly, then charges, going to attempt slamming the other against a wall.

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat was honestly a little surprised that it worked. "Thanks?" He assumed that was an adequate way to respond. "Of course I do, why wouldn't I? It's Nightbeat." He deadpanned. He also realized he'd forgotten to introduce himself earlier. Oh well

As Blurr charged Nightbeat was a little too slow to properly dodge and gets slammed up against the wall. After a split second of regaining his composure, he decides to try and kick the mech away

Blurr has posed:
"Nightbeat, good to meet you." Blurr laughs at his apparent misunderstanding of the saying. "I wasn't assuming you didn't, it was more of a joke. I guess you don't humor or something." He gets a kick to the lower body, forcing him a short distance away.

The speedster whips out his TechVolt, an electrical stun weapon, and fires a high-voltage bolt at the detective from where he stands.

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat blinks. "I see." He made a mental note for future reference.

He was then hit by the electrical bolt and found himself momentarily stunned. It didn't do any damage but it was somewhat of a nasty shock to his systems.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr chuckles and walks over to Nightbeat, standing over him as he is once again on his back on the floor. But this time, he offers a hand up. Of course, this leaves him open to another potential strike. Every opportunity, right? Fighting dirty is a necessity, sometimes.

"You never heard anyone say that before or what?" he asks. "Anyway, I'd introduce myself, but you probably already know who I am." Sure, he's bragging, but it's kind of true.

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat regains composure again. He looks up at Blurr and then at his hand. He's trying to figure out wether or not the bot is up to something. He did use the electricity attack out of the blue so Nightbeat is mildly skeptical. He decides to get up himself.

"I have, precisely 102 times." Nightbeat answers in a very matter-of-fact way. Why so precisely? No one knows. "Yeah, you could say I had a hunch." He replies to Blurr's introduction. He's vaguely sarcastic and he's now trying to figure out Blurr's next move.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr arches a brow at Nightbeat. Okay then. "That's uh, quite a few times. But I guess it's easy to forget?" he shrugs. "Unless you were just trying to find a reason to make fun of me." The speedster smirks, withdrawing his hand as Nightbeat decides not to take it. "In which case it didn't work very well."

Nightbeat has posed:
"No, not really" Nightbeat is mildly confused as he didn't really intend to make fun of the bot. "Are we done here?" He asked, his tone as flat as always.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr gives up trying to figure out why Nightbeat acted as if he'd never heard that saying before. He shrugs. "Tired already, huh? Well I guess we can be done if that's the case. You could probably use more time in hand-to-hand scenarios at some point, though."

"I know, I know, you're probably going to say that you don't fight in close quarters, but you never know when you could find yourself in that kind of situation."

Nightbeat has posed:
"Not necessarily, it was merely unexpected." Nightbeat shrugs.

He was in fact about to say just that to Blurr as the speedster spoke up again but he didn't as that was a valid arguement. "I suppose you do have a point." He sighed.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr chuckles, and slaps Nightbeat on the back playfully. "Of course I do. Get some practice in, I promise you won't regret it. Maybe go up against some targets easier than me for a bit, and try me again later." He heads for the door.

Nightbeat has posed:
Nightbeat is caught off guard by the gesture and isn't entirely sure how to respond to that so he decides to not. "I was in fact going to" He simply replies. He steps into the simulators after Blurr leaves.
