Date of Scene: 30 December 2016
Location: Repair Bay
Synopsis: Hot Rod seeks Aegis' help in examining Coil.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Prowl, Aegis, Hot Rod

Hot Rod has posed:
By now, Aegis will have received a message from Hot Rod to meet her at the Decagon as soon as possible. He's instructed her to meet him in the west wing, where the repair bay. Thus far, he's managed to avoid notifying too many people of his presence here, since these days he's been rather scarce due to all the shenanigans. No one has asked him any questions yet, though, so that's good.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis tries to look as non-challant as she can, since EVERYONE knows that if you look furtive you are more suspicious. She doesn't want that. Instead she keeps her pace brisk, business-like, and even, trying not to falter or slow too much as she goes to meet with Hot Rod. That young mech will be the death of her if he goes on like this for too much longer.

Prowl has posed:
So far, so good. No one really questions Hot Rod's presence here, nor Aegis'. In fact, as she approaches the infirmary some of the physicians and technicians even greet her with a smile--they know her since she has probably helped them on a few occasions no doubt, and isn't likely to have given them any reason to dislike her.

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod dashes out from behind a corner to meet her rather suddenly, perhaps startling her. "Oh good, you're here!" he says with a grin. He pats her on the shoulder, before glancing around briefly to make sure no one is looking at them suspiciously. "This way," he whispers, ushering her in.

Aegis has posed:
Heaven's no! Aegis is very polite. So if anyone is offended by politeness, maybe they won't like her. But most people don't have that issue that work in such places. When Hot Rod flips around the corner she starts slightly, lower arms flailing. That's an awful lot of bright paint and bright smiles to be faced with all of a sudden. "Alright," she says when she steadies herself.

Prowl has posed:
The repair bay is busy as usual, and again no one really pays them much mind, that is until one of the medics approaches. "Aegis! Hey, it's good to see you, we were wondering when you'd come by to help again." he gushes enthusiastically, then turns to Hot Rod. "This a friend of yours, or?"

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod slings an arm around Aegis, grinning. He winks at the medic and squeezes Aegis' shoulder. "Sure, why not? I visit her at work almost every decacycle, but I guess you could describe me as a friend." What a charmer, right?

Aegis has posed:
"I try to make more friends than enemies," Aegis says with a smile. "I find life is easier that way, but it doesn't always work so well in war time." She shrugs her shoulders ruefully. She keeps her face from being incredulous at Hot Rod's explanation, mostly because it just seems so like him to say such things. Instead she just smiles weakly. "Hard to say no to a face like his," she says in the tone of someone making a confession.

Prowl has posed:
The mech nods. "Certainly, certainly! Well anyway there's plenty to do," he gets out a datapad and hands it to her. "Here's a list of patients and damage reports." Though Coil is not on it. "Status, what's been done, what needs to be done, everything. So you can get started wherever, I guess. Any questions, just ask."

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod's hand slides down to her waist and pulls her closer momentarily, grinning, until the other mech appears to distract himself after he's given Aegis the datapad. Hot Rod snatches it and gives it a once over before setting it down. "We need to find him," he says, then grabs her hand and starts leading her away towards.... wherever the sniper is.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis scans over the list, looking to see if the names are in order of triage importance, or alphabetical, or some other means of organization. It might not be the real reason she's here, but if anything appears to be critical, or catches her optics, she'd be obligated to do something about it. As far as she can tell, the actual life of Hot Rod's 'cause' is not immediately in danger. Then Hot Rod pulls on her. She makes a sound of protest as he takes away the pad, and she immediately scoops it back up again. "We'll have better luck if we look more official," she says, hugging the datapad close to her.

Prowl has posed:
"Oh an--" The mech was about to say something else when Hot Rod just...grabs Aegis and starts walking away. "Alright then, I guess he was eager for her to get started..." He mutters, and was about to turn away when he sees the direction they're headed in.

Quickly, he catches up with them and blocks their path. "Umm, right. So I don't think you're supposed to work on -that- guy. Don't ask me why, but the higher ups have even been keeping -us- on a strictly need-to-know basis. Doubt they'd tolerate someone uhm...not enlisted in there."

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod gives the mech a confused look. "/That/ guy? What guy? Aegis, what the hell is this guy talking about? I thought you were gonna show me something cool." He assumes holding hands with her again. But he tight beams her. "<We need to bypass this guy somehow>"

Aegis has posed:
"< Sometimes the best diversion is doing what you're supposed to. >" Wow, what a concept. Bet Hot Rod would never have come up with THAT plan. "Do you have any suggestions on who needs care most immediately?" she asks the other medic evenly, as though she had not just been caught heading right towards a restricted area. And she said she was no good at subterfuge. Ha. "After all, sometimes urgency can't be conveyed through a report."

Prowl has posed:
"Oh, plenty of people needing stabilized, it's in the report right?" The medic asks. "I thought it was, anyway. Aaand I think we just got one in earlier...double-barreled plasma cannon straight through the torso. Lost a lot of fuel--might be able to reconstruct but it won't be easy. Not everyone's in the mood for a big challenge like that every cycle though!"

Hot Rod has posed:
"<What? No! that's not going to work.>" No, he wouldn't have. He really wouldn't have. Hot Rod elbows her a little. "<What are you doing? He just said you're not allowed to, that's not going to get you in>." He leans closer to her. "You're right though. We need a diversion," he whispers to her.

Aegis has posed:
"There's always a little discrepancy between the report and a medic's opinion," Aegis says, turning on her wheedling voice. "After all, there are observations that are hard to pin down to medical speech." Then she gives Hot Rod's hand an extra squeeze. "Just trust me for now," she whispers back.

Prowl has posed:
"That's true." The medic shrugs. "Well anyway, you can start wherever. Just stay out of -there-." He says, pointing to the closed door of the restricted room. "I just don't want to get you into trouble, -and- I don't want to get myself into trouble, either. As you know, though we help a lot of 'bots with a lot of stuff, and even though this is a hospital technically, the Autobots--we are chiefly a military organization. Which means hierarchies, which means orders from superior officers that aren't supposed to be questioned."

Hot Rod has posed:
"..." Hot Rod shifts uncomfortably and his gaze wanders listlessly around the room. His silence is enough affirmation, Aegis may suppose. But when the medic says to stay out of the restricted room, Hot Rod glances over. "/There?/ Oh yeah? What's so bad about going in there anyway, huh? Too grotesque for the public? Does he have some kind of transferrable virus?" He tugs on Aegis arm. "Was that the cool thing you were talking about??"

Aegis has posed:
Aegis sighs deeply. She wouldn't have even used the word 'cool' to describe something to someone. Her smaller arms twitch slightly in agitation. "Some people are so interested in the welfare of others..." she says. "To the point of being insistent and impulsive." Who could she be referring to? "But orders are orders, right?" She doesn't want to burn bridges here. She doesn't want to get the medic in trouble. This is all awkward, and she doesn't like it.

Prowl has posed:
The mech throws his hands in the air. "I don't know, okay?" He sighs. "I haven't even been in there myself. I just know they don't want too many people going in there, and they probably have a good reason." he folds his arms. "Now, if you're going to help, you should get started on -something- soon."

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod looks at Aegis impatiently and tugs on her arm. Perhaps childishly, perhaps flirtatiously, depends on how one sees it. He's pouting a little. "Come onnnn," he pleads, and it will become clear to her he actually isn't feigning this time. He glances over at the forbidden room, then back to her, his expression urgent.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis gives Hot Rod a long look. Does he WANT this medic to get in trouble? The mech is woefully short-sighted. She was HOPING to get the medic out of the way first, by looking like she was attending her duties, then he'd go back to his. Now that she's caught in this awkward situation, her enthusiasm is declining rapidly. With an almost lost expression, she lets Hot Rod pull her away, her body going somewhat slack.

Prowl has posed:
The other medic watches them with his arms folded, an optic ridge raised. "Okay then." Whatever was going on -there-. "I'll let you get right to it, I guess." He then returns to his own duties.

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod lets go of her hand, and follows the other medic for a bit before peeling off and starting to meddle with some important looking equipment. "Hey, what's this do?" he asks, acting naive. He tight beams Aegis, "<Make yourself scarce! I'll take care of things. Then when it looks like no one's watching, go in. Do whatever you need to do.. I'll keep them occupied>"

Aegis has posed:
Aegis nods her head mutely and tries to follow directions. After all, this is really Hot Rod's show, not hers. She's just pretty much a walking diagnostic tool in this case. So she silently waits for the opportune moment.

Prowl has posed:
Hot Rod's diversionary tactics work. Several of the doctors hurry over to him. "Hey, don't touch that!!" they exclaim. "Don't you have any common sense?!" They get to ensuring that he hasn't done anything irreparable. Though one mech isn't likely to cause -everyone- in here to get distracted, it would appear that most of them are busy with other patients anyway...

Hot Rod has posed:
NOPE. Why would any ask Hot Rod if he has common sense?

"I dunno, it looked cool and my plus one told me to leave her alone because she had some serious work to do and I was embarrassing her. It's not broken, come on..." He wanders over to a berth with a relatively conscious and coherent looking patient on it. "Hey, you look like you haven't been out in a while, wanna get a drink?" He starts wheeling the berth, regardless of however the patient responds.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis makes a mental note to give Hot Rod a dictionary with the word 'subtle' highlighted quite pointedly. For now she just slips into the room to make the requisite entrane into the FORBIDDEN ROOM. What she's expecting to find, she isn't certain.

Prowl has posed:
Even if she did that, Hot Rod would probably dutifully ignore the highlighted word. Well now the doctors are even more enraged at him. "If you have no business here, then please leave!" One of them says in a frustrated tone as he grabs the berth and attempts to prevent Hot Rod from running off with the patient.

Fortunately, that combined with how busy the medical bay is already is enough to allow Aegis to subtly slip into the restricted area. Though she might be surprised to find that it isn't locked. Perhaps the authorities weren't as concerned about this as that medic had made them out to be.

Inside is a smaller mech lying on a circuit slab, who looks like a flight form. He is surrounded by monitoring equipment, though if she tries to access any of the computers she will find everything requires some kind of code.

Hot Rod has posed:
"Oooookay, crankcase," Hot Rod says, letting go of the patient's berth suddenly and perhaps causing the medic trying to wrestle it from him to stumble. He leans against an unstable shelf. "Nah, she said I could hang today. I mean, I don't get to see her often, you know? I'm gonna stick around." The shelf creaks, threatening to collapse.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis wouldn't have gone for the computers first anyhow. Hot Rod wanted to know her findings, not the ones that would already be in the computer. No, she would be giving the 'patient' a cursory examination with her optics first before getting out her portable diagnostic tool. Of course, this also covers making sure that the mech doesn't look alarmed at her presence or about to make any sort of scene. In such a case she would be quick to put on her best, reassuring, berthside manner.

It's probably a good thing she's not listening to Hot Rod right now; she wouldn't care much for the words he's putting in her mouth. Aegis simply doesn't sound like that.

Prowl has posed:
The patient, Coil, does look rather frightened, though not at her. It's as if he knows something terrible is happening to him or will happen to him yet has no power to stop it. It would appear that he has for the most part recovered from physical injuries, though his fuel lines are still somewhat low, accounting for the weakened state.

Meanwhile, Hot Rod has by now prompted the medics to report an incident involving one of their own and demand that a superior officer come and deal with the situation. And who should show up but Blurr. Well he's the fastest, so perhaps it's no surprise that he was the one to arrive first. He attempts to shove Hot Rod away from the unstable shelf. "The frag are you doing here, Hot Rod?"

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod doesn't even say anything. Instead, he balls his fists and attempts to punch Blurr in the face.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis tries to speak soothingly. "I'm just here to do a little bit of diagnostics," she says gently, moving to put a reassuring hand on the mech's shoulder. She does note the fear, but she's not sure what to do about it, since it doesn't seem to be directed at her. Still, she finds it hard to see someone like that. Since he has recovered somewhat, she can't know what the original injuries were like. When she checks the computers, at this point, she notes that they are coded. Not being a hacker, she turns back to what she knows. Giving the patient's face a bit more scrutiny, she deliberates on whether or not she should ask him directly about his injuries.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr easily dodges the punch, swinging his body sideways slightly. "Ugh, what IS your slagging problem?!" he grumbles. "These people are trying to help the injured, and you're putting them at risk!"

Coil nods at Aegis' words, he doesn't seem worried about her, really. Something doesn't seem quite right...he -looks- desperate, as if he wants more than anything to ask her something or tell her something, yet remains silent.

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod doesn't respond. He just continues trying to uppercut Blurr, brow ridges furrowed.

Aegis has posed:
Helplessness is something that tugs at Aegis' almost maternal side. Having spent a lot of time around organics, she actually knows, and appreciates, what maternal means. Still, she keeps things on the side of her job as a medical practicioner. "How are you feeling? Have your wounds been taken care of properly?" She moves to take a look, her motions careful in case Coil decides to get violent, or even shy away.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr again dodges, ducking the uppercut this time. He attempts to grab Hot Rod's wrist as it sails over his head in an attempt to restrain him. "Stop it! Are you out of your -mind-?!" he exclaims.

Coil still doesn't answer, though he doesn't shy away or try to resist her in any way. He just watches her, as if hoping against hope that she will find something...

It would appear upon closer examination that he's suffered some severe burns, though it's hard to say exactly what kind at first glance.

Hot Rod has posed:
Blurr misses, and Hot Rod continues to antagonize (or divert, however one may see it) him. He steps back, out of Blurr's reach, and this time grabs an empty med cart and flips it in Blurr's direction, still offering zero dialogue with the speedster.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis looks for two things. First, if there are security camera's pointed at Coil. Second, if it looks as though his voicoder has been tampered with. She wants to know if his silence is by will, or because he can't help it. "Looks like you had some nasty burns there," she says softly, looking at them more closely now, and still using her gentle-medic voice: a combination of hope and concern, with a hint of professionalism.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr jumps out of the way, but the cart clips him in the leg, causing him to stumble. "Okay, that's IT!" Out comes the TechVolt and he fires it at Hot Rod, aiming to incapacitate.

It doesn't look like Coil's vocoder has been damaged or tampered with. So he is either refusing to speak or the problem isn't physical but either psychological or embedded in his code somewhere.

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod stumbles backwards into a shelf, knocking it over. "<Aegis, find out whatever you can in the next five nanoseconds and then get out. I don't think I can keep it up any longer without getting some of the patients hurt>"

He transforms and swerves, aiming to exit the repair bay, but not without knocking some of the equipment over first.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis squeezes the mech's hand gently while she examines his burns under magnification and heavy scrutiny. "I'm sorry I can't do more to help; hang in there," she whispers quietly before taking her information and going. As headstrong and impulsive as Hot Rod is, and as much as he's abusing her personality and good name, she doesn't want harm to come to him. Then again, she doesn't rejoice in harm being done to anyone. < "Just keep yourself safe," > she tells him. < "I'm on my way." >

Blurr has posed:
Upon closer examination, it looks like most of them were radiation burns, though some of them appear to have been caused by hot gases. As Aegis turns to leave, Coil just looks almost as if his highest hopes had been dashed. Well, perhaps if she returns another time, without Hot Rod, things might go a little more smoothly, given how she is somewhat acquainted with the other medics at the Decagon.
