Cast of Characters: Quantum, Prowl, Nightlash, 101, 104

Prowl has posed:
Skirmishes have broken out along the border between Tesarus and what was once Nyon, with the Decepticons using the lawless ruins of the once beautiful city-state as cover. Though most of the structures are defunct and dilapidated, they are actually fairly good temporary defenses if used strategically. Even the piles of rubble have a few pieces of debris that could be repurposed/scavenged to create temporary structures over trenches.

They're definitely preparing for a full-scale attack soon, with the aim of seizing control of Tarn's southerly neighbor, with those Autobots still stationed in or near Tesarus desperately trying to prevent the insurgents from advancing toward the heart of the city.

Nightlash has posed:
There's a question that often gets asked by many, one which forces the one asking to reflect upon numerous things. Primarily, the effort to seek how the culmination of choices and decisions throughout one's life led to the inevitable moment they face...

How in the slag did I end up here?

At least, that's what's running through Nightlash's processors as she carefully navigates her way over the place, scouting out and gathering information for her own purposes and...well, is it really her own purposes anymore? There's a soft, internalized huff as she checks on the sensors from her drone, reviewing what's being picked up by the thing as it scans for Decepticons, Autobots, and Neutrals alike...

Oh, and useful scrap that might be littered about.

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
As a new battleground for the Decepticons, Shadowstar is here trying to find glory in battle. Right now, that means using her skills at avoiding detection to comb the rubble herself for hiding Autobots and even Neutrals who are resisting the change in leadership. The purple seeker is sticking to the ground for now, her blaster arm held at the ready and wings spread out with their payloads ready as she sneaks through the streets between ruined buildings and piles of rubble, using the shadows to her advantage while she combs for enemy combatants.

Prowl has posed:
Oh, there's a lot of useful scrap especially around where the fighting is, because there are a lot of fresh dead bodies all over the ground that have not been cleaned up by medevac crews yet. Nightlash might have been scavenging through those when she receives an urgent communication from someone in the Bot Intelligence Division. << Nightlash. Command doesn't want you out here. The Decepticons are going to be looking for you after what happened at Vos. >> Well if one didn't know any better, it almost sounded like she was already one of them, with them expecting her to submit to their command hierarchy like that! << We...strongly suggest that you enter our protection. >>

Indeed, since Shadowstar was the one who encountered Nightlash, she has been tasked with finding the neutral civilian and interrogating her to see if she can find out if the former scout was in any way affiliated with the Autobots or the Convocation. Because she is, the information could be used to further damage the Bot's reputation, and she could know some valuable intel as well.

Nightlash has posed:
<<Not sure if you notied or not, but I don't answer to 'Command'. Heh, even if I had that silly red badge you lot enjoy flaunting around I'd even listen.>> She pauses as something catches her attention and she slows into a banking descent, spiraling down. It's not salvage, nor is it really anything...of worth? Well, not outright.

"Huh..." She sends a broad scan outward and then transforms, landing as she picks up the head of one of the lifeless mechs turned to scrap, rolling it about. "Well...that explains why I couldn't get you to repair me up not long ago." She sighs, and for a brief moment looks like there's a hint of remorse, and then she just tosses the head aside. "Hmph." Well, that done, she pulls one of the tools from his utility kit. "Guess you don't need this anymore."

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
The clatter of that head being tossed aside draws Shadowstar's attention! She makes her way quickly but quietly toward the position. And who does she find? Why, that Autobot collaborator, Nightlash! Shadowstar smirks to herself as she takes aim. She pauses for a moment as she wonders why Nightlash is wandering around out here. Is she on the payroll of the Autobots? That might explain why they run into each other so much.

But, that isn't really important...what is important is that Shadowstar is once again going to get the drop on Nightlash! Once she has fired, Shadowstar cackles. "You may as well hand over your cloaking device! I will make much better use of it!"

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash was just minding her OWN SLAGGING BUSINESS when she gets shot from behind? Well, that's inconvenient. She turns to glare at whoever it is and just sputters. "OH! You have got to be kidding me! Better use of it?" She looks down and brushes some dirt from her frame. "Meh...to be seen." She transforms and engines kick on.

As her guns spin up, she quickly gets her targeting systems up and running. Normal telemetry stuff. Well, unless one sees it from her point of view, then it just looks like a pixelated version of her kicking Shadowstar in the head to confirm weapons have a proper lock. <<Fine, you know what? I'm feeling like blowing something up today. Guess you'll just have to do! Home you don't mind getting shown up.>>

Prowl has posed:
<< I know that, but it's for your own safety. It'll only be a matter of time before-->> But whoever is talking on the other end doesn't get to finish before Shadowstar suddenly ambushes Nightlash once again. Sigh. << And -that- is the exact reason why we told you to stay away from the battlefield. Stand by, extraction team en route. >>

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
"Yes, better use of it! I've caught you unaware twice now, despite you having the superior hardware!" Shadowstar says before she is pelted by bullets. Several holes appear in her armor before she manages to slide to the side. Her wings fan out around her waist before a salvo of them launch toward Nightlash. "What are you doing out here anyway? You aren't even a real Autobot, are you? Hoping to pick the remains of the dead?" she calls out as her micro missiles explode all around the drone ship.

Nightlash has posed:
"If I didn't know any better, I'd say you're just a bit-" she acks as she's pummelled by the micro-missile-storm, "-mad that I shook you off last time! So...what's the deal. You and Starscream buddy-buddy and working with Megatron? That the whole deal now?"

She accelerates into a loop, coming down and taking some time to plug information into her drone, which responds with a nice little stream of information. "And never you mind what I'm doing... I've every right to be here."

As for her nuissance on the radio? <<Oh, this is the reason? If you /knew/ this was going to happen, why didn't you put it on a big bright glowing sign! Warning, nuissance in area. Proceed with explosives!>>

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
Shadowstar hmphs. "I don't get mad! I get even!" she exclaims. She steps out into the open after she feels that scanner and grins as she fires a few beams from her twin blaster, that being her only answer to the question. Instead she focuses on Nightlash's assertion. "Every right? Have you chosen a side in this war and forgotten to tell anyone?" she asks as she stands boldly (or foolishly) right in the middle of an intersection, firing up at Nightlash.

Nightlash has posed:
"Of course I haven't picked a side you stupid excuse for an aviary! I'm-" crunch. Ow, okay, that hurt a little bit. She runs a quick scan to make sure nothing critical was broken. But....naw, it's all good. Sorta. Just ignore that red blinky light in the corner of her HUD and it's perfect!

"This is Cybertron, it belongs to ALL of us!" She snaps around and brings her nose to bear on Shadowstar. "Or...you know, did you forget that part? Oh! Here's something else, remember how good you looked on fire? I do." That sleek missile rolls out and is fired. "Burn, baby, burn."

Prowl has posed:
Glowing signs? Pff, Intel officers don't have time to listen to such drivel. The comm is cut, and a message is sent to the front lines of a skirmish to the southwest. As the Aerialbots are hunkered down in an outlying industrial quadrant of Tesarus doing what they can to stymie the Decepticon advance, they receive a message from command that Slingshot is to be immediately pulled away to extract a neutral named Nightlash from the Nyonian ruins. Why Slingshot? Oh maybe-probably because all his comrades are getting too frustrated with his arrogant self-aggrandizing attitudes and could use a break from him. Well there is also the fact that he is fast and doesn't crash into things nearly as much as Fireflight does.

Slingshot (104) has posed:
"Why is it that /I/ have to go safe some slagging neutral?! What have they ever done but get in the way? BAH! Who needs them! Let the bot die! 'Oh but Slingshot, that's not how we work we're Autobots. We save innocents.' Innocent my aft! Bet they're trying to get in close to the action...Heh, well, if they want a show, so be it!" Muttering set aside, Slingshot did exactly that, pushing himself to the limits until he caught the echo of a firefight. Welp, seemed he arrived!

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
KABOOM! Again! Shadowstar is at ground zero of a large, fiery explosion! Shadowstar cries out and gets a feeling of deja vu as she flies through the air not under her own power, then lands hard and bounces before landing on her feet. As she burns from the sticky napalm, she grits her teeth against the pain. "Yes, perhaps it does belong to everyone. But, the items from the dead do not belong to everyone! They belong to the victors!"

She lets loose another salvo of her missiles, the dozen or so micro-missiles taking off toward Nightlash at high speed. Shadowstar blinks as she hears an engine rapidly coming toward them. She turns to look and sees...an Autobot? This is the proof she has been looking for to confirm her suspicions! "Hah! You haven't chosen a side? Then why are reinforcements coming your way with that big red badge on them?"

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash gets blasted. Ow... that's remarkably unpleasant. Especially when the explosions do a number on her engines and they momentarily sputter. "You...are really, really, really annoying... and maybe they're just coming to blow you out of the sky and I've nothing to do with it!"

Well, if missiles are the order of the day, she quickly arms one of her own warheaded projectiles and turns to, bearing down on the seeker and firing it off to counter explosives with explosives. <<Uh...so, autobot whoever, make a deal. Get her pinned on the ground and I can destroy her.>> How? Well, she'll leave that part out. For now.

Slingshot (104) has posed:
"Slag!" Slingshot immediately let out a string of curses as he was hit, processor spinning from the hit. <<Slingshot. Aka the best Aerial bot and the one who's saving your aft! I was sent here to extract you, despite my wishes, so you best believe that you're getting extracted, not getting help.>> With that he fired at Shadowstar.

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
Another explosion catches Shadowstar and sends her stumbling back, a few sparks noticable around her battered and cracked plating. Well, if one can see past the flames that are still melting her armor. "I am not even in the sky right now!" Shadowstar calls back to Nightlash before she is hit by a rocket from Slingshot, causing her to stumble back again. She growls, then dives for a nearby pile of rubble. "I'll take you both on!" she exclaims as her wings start twirling around her waist, launching missile after missile and showering destruction all around the other two fliers. "If you think I will just turn tailpipes and run then you have another think coming!"

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash laughs. Loudly. Partly because it's two against one, but mostly because of the sheer volume of explosions that are filling the air. It's glorious. Her drone's recording things and she'll probably watch it several times over later on. But also because she just had a devious idea.

She rolls as the missiles strike her frame, smoke rather prominently pouring from more than a few cracks and fissures in her plating and then she just snaps around and dives towards Shadowstar, unleashing a strafing blast of laser fire.

Slingshot (104) has posed:
Ah lovely. /Pain/. What a joy. And he was sticking his neck out for this neutral? He growls lowly, gritting through the pain. Prowl was nagging him, and Primus how he wished he could just snap the SICs neck sometimes. First they put Silverbolt in charge, then send him, the obvious best aerial bot, on.../rescue/ missions. <<Neutral! Get your aft in gear before I get in trouble for /your/ laziness!>> With that he lets loose another missle, taking little care to realize their dwendling number.

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
Shadowstar is enjoying the pure destruction herself! She is getting to fire so many missiles and is doing pretty well against two targets! But, Nightlash brings Shadowstar out of her revelry with a well placed laser blast, and this time the plating over her chest is blown apart. She lets out a shriek and stumbles back, then growls. "This is no longer worth my time!" she says, then transforms to her Tetrajet form and takes off low to the ground. For some reason it gets harder and harder to keep track of her as she darts between buildings and uses a few missiles to toss up a smoke screen by pulverizing some rubble. No way is she going to admit that she was defeated!

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash huffs as...wait, the seeker disappears? She checks scanners and sensors oboth onboard and on her drone...and finds nothing straight-away. Huh. She picks up a bit of altitude and slowly circles overhead. <<This was my fight. I didn't need you coming in and ruining it... Look! You scared the poor thing off before I could blow it up.>>

She thinks a bit, then runs a quick internal check... <<You're lucky I'm low on missiles.>> She turns about and makes sure to buzz the aerialbot on her way. Far too close than anyone might really consider a properly safe distance.

Slingshot (104) has posed:
<<OI! It wasn't MY idea to come save your sorry aft! I had Prowl venting down my neck!>> All the buzz did was anger him further, causing him to shoot off after her. <<And just /where/ do you think you're going!? It better be to base, because I ain't takin' the blame for your...youness!>>

Quantum has posed:
Quantum was headed toward the skirmish Slingshot just came from when he picked up on some Decepticon activity among the Nyonian ruins. It would appear to be a seeker up against a couple of flying Autobots. Wait, no only one of them was an Autobot. Or maybe only one of them happens to be wearing his badge. Whatever, it doesn't matter that much. What matters is that it looks like she's about to get slagged. Pff, people trying to win despite being outnumbered by a long shot.

He tightbeams down to Shadowstar. << Hey you, need an escape plan? I can cover your retreat. What're you doing back here anyway, shouldn't you be up trying to push Tesarus? >>

Nightlash has posed:
<<Oh, go suck on a bag of rusty bolts... I don't know of any 'base'...>> Though, if that was her usual repair-mech in the pile of corpses, there's only one proper place she knows of to get a repair quick... <<Don't be mad my 'youness' is better than your 'youness'.>> And...naw, she's already past the horizon.

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
Shadowstar just sighs over the comm. <<I was sent to track down that troublemaker who was at the Academy when the President was attacked. I almost had her until that Autodolt showed up! I am almost certain she is working with them!>> Although hard to get a lock on at the moment, Shadowstar isn't actually hard to track thanks to the smoke trail she is leaving behind thanks to all the damage. <<She is so slagged next time I see her! It will take me days to get my plating back to the polished shine I so carefully maintain!>>

Shadowstar sighs again before yelping as one of her engines sputters. <<You can see if you can catch up to her if you want. I should get back for repairs.>> she grumbles, obviously unhappy about it.

Quantum has posed:
So, she couldn't even catch a civvie? Quantum has to stifle a snicker. << Ookay then. Well next time try to either get away sooner or call for backup sooner before you try taking on 2 Autobots at once by yourself. >>

Shadowstar (101) has posed:
Shadowstar is pretty sure that Nightlash is no ordinary civvie, if she is a civvie at all. <<It didn't start out as two! Meddling Autobrats...>> she says as they make their way back to base. <<...I guess I should start calling for backup, though. Whoever she is, she obviously has some military grade hardware.>> Yes, that's it! Obviously Nightlash cheated somehow! Shadowstar will have plenty of time to think about that while she is in the repair bay.
