Appreciation Day at the DMF
Date of Scene: 06 April 2018
Location: Deltaran Medical Facility
Synopsis: Autobots and neutrals socialize at Deltaran.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Aegis, Hammerstrike, Hyperdrive, 108

Blurr has posed:
All around Cybertron, a lot of celebrating and engaging in 'fun' activities is going on, probably because no one truly knows how long the peace will actually last. So might as well enjoy yourself while the war is still taking a break so to speak.

Presently, Deltaran Medical in Rodion has opted to celebrate its medical staff and take the opportunity to encourage the public to appreciate them and the hard work they do every solar cycle.

Thus, on the street outside of the clinic there are a variety of tables filled with energon of various different sorts, and one with a pile of appreciation gifts to the staff and volunteers from the public. A fairly significantly-sized crowd has gathered, generally having a good time.

And Blurr is here, too, standing near the gift table talking to a group of technicians from Deltaran.

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Among those celebrating the peace is one of the newer Autobots, Healthpoint. Despite her stature she is trying not to draw much attention to herself but is at least sampling the energon varieties. Or...perhaps testing is a better word. She hasn't actually drank any of them, instead taking samples in small quantities and running them through her scanners to test for dangerous compounds. Her goal? To find the one with the least dangerous compounds so she can at least say she partied.

But, she is at least a medical bot and has volunteered her time when she wasn't busy in the Autobot medbay, so celebrating the peace and letting the medical personnel know that she appreciates their efforts is something she is happy to do.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis works here sometimes, when she's not on a 'house call' so to speak. The sensitive medic is determined to remain badge blind, and so will help anyone in need, even those who would hesitate to come to such a public facility. So such a celebration is a welcome change, since a lot of people don't express appreciation for medics: usually they're trying to get out of repairs as fast as possible. Often it's a thankless job, but even without occassions such as this, Aegis wouldn't do anything else with her time and skills. She wanders over to where the drinks are. Seeing Healthpoint, she smiles faintly in greeting, but doesn't interrupt her.

Hammerstrike has posed:
One might think that parties and Hammerstrike don't mix. Nonetheless, the broad-shouldered mech is standing not too far from one of the tables offering energon, a half finished drink in one hand. He'd been chatting briefly with an engineer, and seems unusually engaged for the stoic mech. His company, however, doesn't stay long, and after a mutual clapping of shoulders in farewell, the engineer departs. Taking stock of the crowd, Hammerstrike heads over to where the gifts are. Even if Blurr is there. Only giving the speedster the briefest nod of acknowledgement, he untucks something out of subspace and adds it to the pile.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive looks at Healthpoint's actions and grins. "So....what have ya decided on yer samples? I haven't bothered ta try anythin." He glances closely at her lineup and smirks.

Blurr has posed:
Blurr notices Hammerstrike as the group he was talking to wanders off, arching a brow at him. "Hammerstrike, huh. Never really pegged you as the party type. Or any kind of leisure at all for that matter." Then he smiles at Aegis and Healthpoint. "Well, today's your day." The speedster glances at Healthpoint's large sampling of fuel from the party. "Having a hard time deciding huh?"

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint is quiet for a moment after Hyperdrive asks his question, then hmms before holding up one of the selections. "This one seems to offer the least chance of processor fatigue, so I will be partaking of this one." she says, her voice just barely enough to be heard over the rest of the crowd. But, when Blurr speaks up suddenly she gasps and fumbles the test tube she was holding. She tries to catch it and instead ends up headbutting Hyperdrive lightly before she bounces back and almost falls backwards. All before the test tube even hits the ground. "...ohmy. Hyperdrive, are you alright?" she asks, holding her head where she impacted his. Hopefully he is as physically hard headed as he is mentally! "Ah..y-yes. A very hard time. All of these selections contain high levels of the compound that can cause both inebriation and the phenomenon known as 'a hangover'. As I am a medical professional, I do not wish to impare myself with too much. But, I believe I have made a choice now." she says before looking down at the broken glasswear.

Hammerstrike has posed:
Hammerstrike just looks at Blurr in a drawn out silence, only subtle signs of incredulity showing through in the set of his optics. While holding Blurr in this silent gaze, he takes a very deliberate and slow sip of his drink. Nothing is said, however, and Hammerstrike then turns and ambles towards the energon tables.
Healthpoint and Hyperdrive both get curt nods in greeting. To Aegis, however, his nod is slower as if stalling to take the time to look her over with an almost searching gaze. He squints, but if there was something he was going to say, it gets pushed away by the minor commotion caused by Healthpoint's comical fumble. Well. Some may call it comical, but Hammerstrike isn't laughing.

Aegis has posed:
Aegis nods briefly to Blurr. While she doesn't hold a grudge, per se, her memory isn't so short. "Sometimes a little off duty drink helps with the stress," she says when she overhears Healthpoint's view on medics drinking engex. "But only off the clock," she stresses, crossing her smaller set of arms. Cybertron is enough to drive any self-respecting medic to drink, but she doesn't say that out loud. Catching Hammerstrike's odd gaze, she quirks an optic ridge at him, but doesn't verbally inquire.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive yelps as he's headbutted and ends up on his aft. A grin on his face though he's rubbing his head. "I'm okay....ow...." He looks up at Blurr, "You probably try all of them and burn through it all before it can really affect ya don't ya?" He smirks.

Blurr has posed:
"Whoa, whoa careful there." Blurr laughs, moving quickly to catch any of the other drinks she's sampled before they hit the ground, although the tube she was holding slips through his grasp. "Pff, c'mon. Even medics gotta relax at some point. Can't be on the clock -all- the time." The speedster says, patting her on the back. "Right Hammerstrike?" he grins, although the mech is already wandering off. "Primus, talk about anti-social." he mutters.

"To be honest, I can't switch off my FIM all that often. If I do, I usually go straight to the floor." he laughs. "Guess that kind of defeats the purpose, but that's the price of being fast I suppose."

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint looks pretty embarrassed after her little fumble and headbutt, and ends up looking at the floor and fidgiting as the famous racer actually talks to her. "FIM...of course." she says quietly before looking over at Aegis. She offers a small smile to the other medic before looking down at Hyperdrive. She blinks, then reaches down to help him up. "Sorry about that." she says again before noticing the gaze from Hammerstrike. She of course didn't think her own fumble was comical, and his hard stare doesn't help. She ends up looking down at the floor again.

Hammerstrike has posed:
Hammerstrike briefly notifies one of the people hosting the event of the broken glass that needs cleaning. With that seen to, Hammerstrike gets a refill, and rejoins the group. Blurr gets another hard stare, but then Hammerstrike slowly nods. "No one can be on the clock all the time. Though being a medic might make it hard to separate on and off duty. Never know when there'll be an emergency." If Hammerstrike notices that his demeanor and mannerisms have made Healthpoint uneasy, he shows not indication of it.

Aegis has posed:
"True enough," Aegis concedes to the stoic seeming mech. "But we're people too, with our foibles." She shrugs her shoulders. "In war, soliders are called onto duty at a moment's notice as well. But I suppose killing each other is a lot less precise than surgery," she muses. "Our planet is almost always in a state of emergency. This break was...much needed." And with that she takes one of the drinks and starts sipping at it meditatively.

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint apparently agrees with Hammer and Aegis, because she is quietly sipping a drink now as well. But, anyone who knows the available drinks knows it is the weakest drink here. And she said so a moment ago. She nods as well to Hammerstrike's comment about emergencies. "E-exactly." she says before sipping again. She holds her cup in both hands as if she is afraid she might drop it again. "But...right now is a ceasefire, so we can enjoy a bit of relaxation without much worry of something happening other than the usual accidents." she says, smiling a bit.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns, "Healthpoint always is workin. She needs to relax some more." He waves to Hammerstrike, "Hope you are enjoyin yerself."

Hammerstrike has posed:
Hammerstrike's gaze shifts between Aegis and Healthpoint as they talk, although Aegis just gets a monetary squint from the large mech at the remark about killing versus surgery. But rather than say anything he just shrugs and grunts softly, opting to busy himself with draining the contents of his drink.
To Hyperdrive Hammerstrike just informs him, "I am." Though the droll tone he uses isn't very convincing. He raises his cup briefly to Hyperdrive, as if that were all the evidence needed to show that he is, indeed, enjoying himself.
A little delayed, Hammerstrike frinally adds, "I don't expect the ceasefire to last. I'll hold off celebrating until the war has actually ended, not just paused."

Aegis has posed:
Aegis tilts her head to the side and gives Hammerstrike a long look. "Some people might say it's sufficient to celebrate living to see another day," she says. "I wouldn't want to be too quick to celebrate, but I wouldn't want to wait too long either. Each to their own, I suppose." Another sip is taken. Then she laughs softly. "But, where are my manners? I'm Aegis." And she offers a hand to those she hasn't met...all of them, extending her smaller hands to those who are smaller, and her regular sized hands to those closer to her size, or larger.

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint sighs softly as Hyperdrive says she needs to relax more often, but just smiles a bit sadly and nods. "...I suppose I could use more relaxation." she agrees, then sips of her drink as she listens to the others. She frowns lightly at Hammerstrike's comment before she shakes Aegis's offered hand. "H-hello. I am Healthpoint, Autobot combat medic." she says, offering a small smile in greeting as well. She then looks to Hammerstrike again. "...we have to hold out hope that this war will end soon, whether it is with this ceasefire or not. If we fall into the expectation that the war will always be, then we will also fall into despair and forget that we are not meant to be fighting. We are meant to be an enlightened, unified people. We can either hold on to that...or we can devolve into savages concerned only with our own survival. And I for one do not want the latter."

Blurr has posed:
"I dunno, killing can be a pretty precise thing especially if you need it to do it at just right time, in just the right way, and to just the right person or people." Blurr says in response to Aegis. Okay, maybe that wasn't a very sensitive thing to say in the present company. Oh well.

A smirk is directed at Hammerstrike. "Whoa, Hammerstrike having fun? Slag, it really is a crazy world out there." he laughs.

He nods at Healthpoint. "Heh, yeah. Tell that to the Decepticons." he remarks with a slight scoff. "What was your name again? Hotpoint?"

Hammerstrike has posed:
"I never said I expected the war to go on long, just that I'll only be really relieved when it's over." Hammerstrike shrugs his broad shoulders and ignores Blurr's remarks, like usual. He just takes another long sip instead of bother with some witty retort.
Hammerstrike accepts Aegis' handshake. "Hammerstrike," he introduces himself, his grip firm.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive says, "I'd love fer this ta end too but I don't think its gonna last. And now they're messin with that other place. Somethin bd might happen.""

Aegis has posed:
Aegis nods to Blurr. "While that may be true, surgery is almost always precise, whereas killing can easiliy go either way," she says solemnly. She smiles faintly to Healthpoint. "I see we have some things in common other than vocation." Her tone expresses approval. She winces at Hammerstrike's firm grip, offering him a sheepish smile at her reaction. "Pleased to meet you. All of you."

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint is unsure whether Blurr just made a mistake or was making a comment of some kind with the name Hotpoint. "H-healthpoint." she says bashfully. Hammerstrike says he doesn't expect the war will go on long, but she thinks his attitude shows different. Unless he is just that kind of mech. As Aegis agrees with her, Healthpoint smiles softly and gives a slight nod before she thinks about what Hyperdrive said. "...do you think there are transformers in that other world that depend on the gas, or are at least not affected by it?"

Hammerstrike has posed:
Noticing Aegis wince, Hammerstrike quickly releases her hand. He doesn't say anything, just gives a quick, discrete apologetic look towards the fragile medic. Hammerstrike quickly finishes his drink as the topic turns to the other Cybertron. There's no real change in his demeanor so it isn't easy to tell if he has an opinion on it or not. He glances around a moment or two, before turning and nodding to everyone. "I best be going." He nods again and heads off in his usual, unhurried pace.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns, "I don't know what is out over there. I just want ta make sure that no one that goes over gets left there. Its not safe."

Aegis has posed:
Aegis inclines her head a triffle to show Hammerstrike that she saw the apology. Apparently that is sufficient for her. "Be safe," she says to him as he departs. Then the topic switches to the gas. "Being neutral, and not any sort of official, I'm not directly involved, but I have been studying the gas independantly for...some time." Eerie stuff that it is. "If there are any of our kind on the other side...I hope they fared better than we did."

Healthpoint (108) has posed:
Healthpoint blinks as Hammerstrike and Blurr suddenly excuse themselves, then looks to Aegis again. "They would have to have fared better than we have. Otherwise they would be extinct. Assuming they exist at all." she says before noticing the time. She finishes what is left of her drink and smiles to Aegis and Hyperdrive. "It has been fun. It was nice to meet you Aegis. But, I should probably head back to base." she says, then bows lightly to the pair of them before she makes her way to a clear area. She transforms to her quadracopter transport mode, then takes to the skies and heads back to Iacon.
