Summary: Prowl offers Nightlash some long overdue compensation for her former difficulties.

The best thing about large citys is the abundance of places to 'hide' and tinker around with things. And that is precisely what Nightlash is doing. Seems she's managed to come across some goodies and has taken a spot in the back-alleys to mess around with them. Explosives, by the looks of it. Magnetic sticky-bombs, the explosives removed from the casings and being transplanted into what appear to be roughly made rockets. They're far from professional grade, but...hey, not bad, considering she's using what equate to hand-me-down tools.

Yes, the capital city-state of Iacon certainly has a lot of nooks and crannies and back alleys for someone like her to hide in. It's a fairly good spot, not many people milling about--she mostly has the area to herself. And yet, despite that, after a few minutes it would appear that someone -is- coming by.
Actually, it isn't just someone -happening- by. It's in fact someone searching for her in particular. He is a dark grey color mostly, with deep red accents. The First Face insignia emblazoned on his wings make it rather obvious that he's a cop. He approaches her position, though he does not make any hostile moves, simply stands there and addresses her. "You're the one called Nightlash, is that correct?"

Nightlash blinks and turns firstly to glance skyward... There's a drone overhead, but looking elsewhere. Hmm... She snaps her attention to the 'officer' and carefully starts to tuck her belongings back into the crate in anticipation of either abandoning them outright, or taking them and fleeing.
"Last I heard, yeah, that was my name. Not sure what that's worth to anyone, though. Last time someone actually asked for me, it was to tell me to get the slag out." She snorts softly and takes a moment to look him over. "Look...whatever I told Impsie on the Broadband was speculation only. I have no honest way of knowing if there's a bomb inside that ...whoever it was that was rescued by Starscream."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 10:23PM CST >---------------------
The officer shakes his head, his face expressionless. "It's not about that. You've been summoned to the Decagon." He doesn't appear to pay her belongings any mind. "Do you have time now?" he asks.
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 10:26PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash frowns at that, the drone dropping down so she can deposit her belongings into it's cargo hold. "Alright. Fine." She takes a moment or two to simply weigh in the options available to her before stepping out of her corner of the city to draw up alongside the officer. "Not doing anything too fun anyway at the moment."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 10:33PM CST >---------------------
He nods. "Good." The officer leads her out of the alley to a small transport vehicle, the door to which opens into a passenger compartment as she approaches.
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 10:37PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash sighs as she follows along, taking a last glance about to make sure everything of hers is accounted for. "So, do, uh... do I get to ask what this is all about? A phone call? Something?"
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 10:43PM CST >---------------------
"You'll find out soon enough." The officer says curtly, before the shutting the door behind her once she's inside. The transport appears to be automated, and it is quickly on its way, speeding toward the Decagon.
It's not long before it arrives in a docking area, where a receptionist escorts her to the office wing, and to the office of none other than Prowl, second only to Prime himself. He was before, when Sentinel was Prime, and when Zeta was Prime, and now still is for Optimus.
The door is open when she arrives, and he glances up at her, nodding to acknowledge her presence. "Nightlash. Please, come in."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 10:48PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash just goes with the whole show, mental notes being made for certain as she's carted about and escorted, shown this way and that...and finally? Oh, that guy. She steps in a few moments after being asked, delaying more for her own sense of self than anything, and glances about the office. "Huh...wow. Yesterday Starscream, today a Prowl... I keep this up I might even find me a Megatron one of these days."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 10:54PM CST >---------------------
Prowl shrugs at her comments, motioning toward a chair in front of the desk. "Have a seat." The office is incredibly barren, no personal effects whatsoever. It could have been an empty office if not for the piles of datapads and other work-related items. "Starscream, hm? What did -he- want with you?"
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 11:01PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash takes a look around before taking a seat and kicking her feet up on the desk. "Oh! Nothing much, really. Told this Phantom fellow to show me around. He did, sort of, and tried to recruit me in. But I'm guessing if you're asking that, then you didn't know that, so I'm not in here for a counter-offer. Am I."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 11:11PM CST >---------------------
"I suppose that doesn't surprise me." Prowl replies flatly. "But enough about that. So, Nightlash. Aerial recon, ran into a bad fix in the Rust Sea, didn't get an extraction team as soon as you should have. Senate 'honored' you and dumped you on the streets, that sound about right?"
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 11:17PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash frowns at mention of the Rust Sea and snorts. "Eh...it's...complicated. The details are a bit of a pain to remember, and honestly I'd rather forget them outright. Let's just say we agreed to disagree. They may have thought I was useless, and I maybe kicked their desk over."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 11:27PM CST >---------------------
"Hm." Prowl nods. "As I had thought. I'm sorry you had to go through that. We can't change the mistakes of the past, but we're hoping to make amends in order to improve the future. The Grand Convocation seeks to succeed where the Senate failed. You're one of the many who served tirelessly but were met only with casual dismissal at best and hostility at worst."
"So tell me, Nightlash. How would you wish to be compensated? Shanix, fuel? Or perhaps another resource?"
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 11:31PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash listens and goes through an array of responses. She chuckles, then frowns, and then gives it a thoughtful pause as she considers the offer itself. "Yeah...might have something. None of that piddly swill that most seem to think is acceptable or crap... But, uh...of course I'd have to ask the obvious question. What's the catch?"
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 11:36PM CST >---------------------
Prowl shakes his head. "There is no catch." he says simply. "State your terms," At least not -yet-. "And I'll see what I can do about it."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 11:42PM CST >-------------------
Nightlash looks at the various datapads strewn about and reaches over to nab one of them, punching away at the surface as she writes. "You know, I get it. There's things that happened that everyone wants to see undone... but, hey! Can't always get what you want, right?" She tosses the datapad onto the desk and settles back, kicking up her feet again. "But I'm not one to let details like that get in my way...so, there. Everything I want in one, tidy little list."
A simple list, too. Only three bullet points.
Have Optimus Prime hug Scorponok.
Fix my brain.
Rescue me from the Rust Seas before I go crazy.
< Prowl Posed on Jan 06 11:49PM CST >---------------------
Prowl picks up on the datapad and looks at the list. He sighs. "I'm sorry, but I'm afraid that last one is impossible, and the first one is not something I have any control over. The second one...hm. I suppose I could have some of the medics at Deltaran have a look at you. However, I can't guarantee they will be able to help you."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 06 11:52PM CST >-------------------
"Hah...was really looking forward to that first one, too." She gives a shrug and then sighs. "Whatever, look. I know the game. I put things down, I get told it'll come, I get to wait around, and nothing ever comes of it. I'm really not looking for anything I won't get, because I'm far too used to this never panning out. So, that said and done... that all you got for me? How about a pat on the back. That's hard to mess up."
< Prowl Posed on Jan 07 12:05AM CST >---------------------
"Look, I understand that you may be jaded, but I want you to know that we are doing what we can to make amends, and to -not- do what the Senate did. Unfortunately, we can't undo the past, but we -can- attempt to make up for the mistakes made." Prowl picks up another datapad, plugs away at it for a few moments. "There, I just transferred a certificate to your name for you to see whichever specialist you need over at Deltaran in the western sector." And indeed, if she checks, it is there. "You just show them that, and the bill will come to us."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 07 12:08AM CST >-------------------
Nightlash picks up the pad and reads it over before tucking it away. "Well, we'll see." She sighs and glances about the office. "Alright, so...that it, then? I can go on about my merry way and do what I was doing before while you all punch Decepticons, Decepticons punch you, and we all watch along as bystanders?"
< Prowl Posed on Jan 07 12:31AM CST >---------------------
And if she does go to Deltaran, she will get the service promised. Though of course there is no guarantee they will be able to actually 'fix' anything.
"What do you enjoy the most in life, Nightlash? Everyone has -something-. Something that gives them a thrill, something that exhiliarates them and never grows tiresome. Think about it. You know where to find me."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 07 12:36AM CST >-------------------
Nightlash considers that as she takes her time to look about the office. "I...do what I always did. I watch things. It's what I was built for, it's what I do best, and I gotta say...it's been pretty entertaining with you lot around. Why?"
< Prowl Posed on Jan 07 12:40AM CST >---------------------
Prowl shrugs. "Well, I thought it might help you figure out what it is you truly want."
He pauses for a moment. "Of course you're free to go whenever you wish, you know. And should you come to a decision, you know where to find me. My hailing frequency is also in the file I gave you."
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 07 12:46AM CST >-------------------
Nightlash nods as she pushes herself to her feet. "Do I get a nifty ride back to where I was? If not, not a problem. I can fly it easy enough." She pulls out the datapad again to make sure the contact information is there and shuffles it away in her memory banks for later use if it's needed.
In truth, she'll probably not follow through on the visit to Deltaran. Not that it'll go to waste... eventually, some roughed up mech from the streets will come in with a voucher. It just won't be her. Paranoia won't let her.
< Prowl Posed on Jan 07 12:55AM CST >---------------------
"If you want." Prowl nods. Sure, if she asks the office clerks, they'll get her one to wherever she needs to go. "I'll be seeing you."
He watches her go, figuring she probably won't use that voucher. People like her don't trust the government, of course. But he just had to prove to her that he wasn't just bluffing. He also figures that list wasn't serious. If she doesn't trust the doctors at Deltaran, then she wouldn't be asking him to get her fixed.
< Nightlash Posed on Jan 07 01:02AM CST >-------------------
Nightlash just nods and stands, turning to walk out with a wave over her shoulder. "Guess I'll be seeing you." And...that's about it. She'll fly her way. The drone's marking where her stuff is, anyway. No sense being stuck on the ground for that.
