A Discussion in the Med Bay
Date of Scene: 04 August 2018
Location: Repair Bay
Synopsis: Hot Rod asks Healthpoint about Blurr's recent shenanigans, while Nightlash and Hyperdrive seek medical advice and repairs.
Cast of Characters: Blurr, Nightlash, Hot Rod, Hyperdrive, Healthpoint

Hot Rod has posed:
It's a pretty ordinary night at the Decagon, and those working the night shift for patrol (Hot Rod is among them, unfortunately) will find themselves extraordinarily bored.

Consequently, the former Nyonian rebel will probably have to drum up some trouble in order to keep himself entertained. This currently looks like trying to use varying scalpels to graffiti on obscure spots in the repair bay. However, the young flameo isn't having much luck at it though, most of the scalpels get dull after a few lines are drawn.

Hot Rod mutters to himself, cursing about having recently gotten his pyro pen confiscated...

Nightlash has posed:
Normal? Nothing is normal when Nightlash is involved. Especially since...well, for once it's not explosions that announce her presence. It's...actually just her. Quiet, and looking a little calm if not a bit...out of place? Well, yes, out of place. She just sort of ventures into the medbay and...hovers there, glancing about a bit and just waiting for someone else to approach her first.

Healthpoint has posed:
Nightlash is not the one approached first in this case. Instead, it is Hot Rod that draws the attention of the tall medic called Healthpoint. She walks up behind him until her large shadow covers him, then coughs pointedly. "Excuse me...what do you think you are doing?" she asks, arms crossed over her chest. She notices Nightlash and offers a light nod of greeting, then turns back to Hot Rod. "Each medical instrument you damage is one that must be repaired, which is one more opportunity for someone who needs it to not get the proper level of care." She pushes her glasses up after that. "If you require some kind of medical assistance then please describe your symptoms. Otherwise I must ask you to refrain from touching any of the medical tools or equipment."

Hot Rod has posed:
Healthpoint startles Hot Rod, and the former rebel fumbles awkwardly with the scalpel before tossing it into a nearby bucket. "Nothing," he shoots back petulantly, glancing at the graffiti. "Oh.. what? Who did that?! I certainly didn't." What a terrible liar.

He notices Nightlash and nods, acknowledging her presence. "You graduate yet, or what?"

He scoffs at her when she mentions medical assistance. "Yeah, yeah, whatever.." he folds his arms and looks away.

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash turns her attention towards the commotion and blinks some. Oh, for once it isn't her. How...odd. In a good way. She just sort of shuffles to the side a bit and makes a motion. "Er, I can...uh, just come back later if you're busy with, you know, real stuff and all."

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint uses a hand to hide a smile as Hot Rod fumbles with the scalpel. "No, of course not." she says, humoring his denial. She motions for Hot Rod to move toward the more open area of the bay, then looks to Nightlash. "This is the repair bay. We are always dealing with real stuff here. But, there is nothing pressing at the moment. I take it things outside are quiet for once? I don't usually get those who are not damaged as visitors."

Hot Rod has posed:
He doesn't seem to like her humoring his denial, and when she smiles, he just looks terribly insulted. He doesn't comment on it though. Instead, he peers around the repair bay, following Healthpoint somewhat reluctantly. "Did you get assigned to night patrol?" he offhandedly asks Nightlash.

"Nothing pressing, huh? No one got banged up recently? Well, that's new..."

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash chuckles. "Ah, well, I mean, I'm not...out in the wild, so....maybe that's why? Never know." Hot Rod is given a glance...and she shakes her head. "Not ...yet? Maybe? I dunno." She chuckles softly and then thinks a bit, glancing about the medbay before looking at Hot Rod. It's...momentary, but soon she's back to focusing on Healthpoint. "Your...uh, when I was here to get checked out and all. You mentioned a few things...took me a bit to think on them and all, what, uh...I mean, was it bad?"

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint doesn't comment on Hot Rod's grumpiness. "Well...Blurr is in critical condition, but he is stable for now so..." The speedster is likely still in one of the repair slots, connected to all manner of monitors and fluid pumps and other life support. "He should be fine, but he isn't quite clear of danger yet." She pushes her glasses up again, then looks to Nightlash. "Was what bad?" she asks, then considers. "Oh...do you mean your condition?" She doesn't want to say more than that with someone else present. Doctor/patient and all that.

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod glances at Nightlash, then at Healthpoint. "Bad?" Hot Rod says, his curiosity and concern piqued. "What do you mean, bad?"

When Healthpoint mentions Blurr is in critical condition, Hot Rod's frown deepens. "What? What happened? Was this recent?" Yeah, he doesn't read reports. Obviously.

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash glances again at Hot Rod and then just...well, pointedly ignores the prying and instead opts to give Healthpoint a slight nod of confirmation. "Was just...you know, took time to think on it and all, and it just...I don't know, it was...like...there was something saying I should have been worried about, but...I wasn't, or I'm not?" She shrugs. "Eh, whatever... probably nothing." And just like that, the concern flits away in favor of curiosity, yielding to Hot Rod's questions about Blurr.

Healthpoint has posed:
It doesn't help that it's been a hard few days and neither Swivel nor Healthpoint had really finalized a report about the incident. Healthpoint vents slowly. "Blurr was caught in the crash of a small ship during a salvage operation. Some local scavengers fired on the ship and caused it to crash." She tries to maintain an unbiased voice, but her expression is definitely sour as she talks about it. "I was unable to protect him..." she adds, her voice quieter.

She blinks in surprise upon hearing Nightlash, then approaches her. "If you want to have it diagnosed more accurately and possibly corrected...well, that was my suggestion upon discovering it. But, it is up to you. It doesn't seem to affect your performance. However, until it is repaired we can't be sure it -hasn't- affected your performance at all."

Hot Rod has posed:
Hot Rod looks puzzled. "So.. he risked his life to salvage a ship?" He shakes his helm, "Okay, I get that Blurr isn't the most rational person," (and neither is Hot Rod, really), "but that sounds a little more rash that his usual self," he comments. "Is he.. around?" He glances around the repair bay.

He gives Healthpoint a curious look when she mentions Nightlash's condition.

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash frowns slightly and shoots Healthpoint a look. "But...what if after I'm not me? It...eh, nevermind, I'll...think about it." She waves it off and glances skyward (or ceiling-ward) at something... "Huh..." Well, whatever it is goes unsaid and she looks towards Hot Rod a bit. "Sometimes salvaging things is...important. I've had all kinds of things blown off trying to salvage stuff I'd probably be dead without."

Blurr has posed:
Blurr is still in relatively the same condition he was in yesterday. The new sedatives Healthpoint had introduced have been working off and on sort of, but his vitals seem to be spiking periodically. Well it's certainly keeping Healthpoint on her toes, since the other medics have all refused to take her place.

As if on cue, some of the instrumentation starts bleeping loudly to inform the attending medic that his systems are dangerously close to going haywire again thus demanding Healthpoint's attention once more.

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint hesitates before motioning Hot Rod toward the medbay she indicated earlier. "He's over there." she says, then vents softly at Nightlash. "How would you not be you? If the damage has affected your personality then technically you are not you at this very moment. If you mean you like who you are now, well...it is still up to you. I certainly won't force you since you don't seem to be hampered by-"

Healthpoint is cut off as those alarms start bleeping, and she dashes off toward Blurr. "Can't you stay relaxed for one moment?" she says, exasperated. She turns up the sedatives just a bit and turns up an alternative treatment she wanted to try. Which is...a recording of Swivel's voice. It isn't clear where she got it, perhaps she asked Swivel to provide it. Then, she scans for reopened wounds. The racer is strapped down pretty much all over now since he tends to struggle so much.

Nightlash has posed:
"But...this is me. The only me I know, at least. Or remember. I mean, maybe...it isn't? Or wasn't? But it is. It's...ugh," she mutters, getting a little frustrated the more she tries to just string words together to explain it. "It... it's...I ...nevermind. Just forget I asked." She waves it off. Which is for the better, because Healthpoint took off running partway through everything she was saying.

Hot Rod has posed:
He frowns slightly at Nightlash, "Yeah, but it's not like Blurr was going to die if he didn't get that ship. And he.. crashed it anyway, right? So.. what was the point of all that anyway? What really happened?" He fixes Healthpoint with a pointed look.

Then the machines attached to Blurr start bleeping and Hot Rod follows the sound, and even before Healthpoint can reach Blurr's side, the young Nyonian is by the blue speedster's berth. "Damn!" he says, "He looks like he took a real beating..?!"

Blurr has posed:
The recording of Swivel's voice only seems to agitate Blurr further, as the readings spike even more. "S-swivel?!" He stares at Healthpoint but doesn't see Swivel anywhere. "...w-whatareyoudoing..." He just seems confused as to why she has recorded Swivel's voice.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive is coming into the medical bay with what liiks to be substantial crushing injury to his forearm. His expression is annoyed as he holds his arm and doesnt make any noise while waiting to see who is in chargw today.

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint's eyes widen. Yes...she will just steer clear of Blurr after this. "Blurr, please relax. I was only trying to help! Swivel seems to be the only transformer who..." She quickly turns off the recording and rubs her forehead. "...it was supposed to reduce your anxiety..." She takes the recording device and just holds it..then her hand shakes and she ends up crushing it. "...I just can't seem to help you, no matter what I do..." she mutters bitterly. Seems like everything she has tried has either not worked or only made things worse. She intakes slowly then vents just as slowly before...just taking Blurr's hand and holding it. "I know you must hate me by now, but I am your doctor and I will not give up on you. Please, trust me and just relax. You will be out of here in no time if you manage to relax." She is probably in the same place that all of Blurr's other physicians have ended up, but she really has no other choice. Blurr has worn out the patience of every other medic, and she doesn't abandon her squadmates or her charges.

Healthpoint looks toward Hot Rod after that. "Please, keep your voice down. He is stable, but every time he gets worked up he redlines again. If you are going to stay by his side you must speak in calm tones." She looks to Nightlash after that. "I won't forget you asked, but I won't press the matter."

And then there is another patient stumbling in. Healthpoint is a bit busy so another medic greets Hyperdrive and gets started on his treatment. But, the scene with Blurr would be hard to miss, as would the alarms.

Nightlash has posed:
Nightlash glances at Hyperdrive's entrance before shaking her head. "Huh...guess me being off the streets isn't helping with mechs getting hurt." She grumbles a bit and just...sort of shuffles herself off to the side to let things go as they need to go.

Hot Rod has posed:
"What? What do you mean, you won't press the matter?? I want to know!" Hot Rod protests of Healthpoint, ignoring her request to keep his voice down. But then Hyperdrive stumbles in, and her attention is diverted elsewhere.

Hot Rod shakes his helm at Nightlash. "That isn't why you joined the Autobots," he reassures her.

Then he turns his attention to Blurr. "Hey buddy, I need you to calm down and tell me straight what happened to you. Just don't freak out in the meantime, because the docs are gonna kick me out of here if you start redlining."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive would be hurt being on the streets or not. He flared as the medic taking his info. "I fell." The medic starts going on about how there are no other marks on him and the entire circimference of his arm is damaged. "I fell." He sees some of the stuff occuring in the medical bay and frowns.

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint vents with relief as Hot Rod's words seem to at least get Blurr to fall below the redline again. "Well...perhaps I will call you when he needs to calm down rather than Swivel." she says to Hot Rod, then lets go of Blurr. "We should leave him for now. He seems quite easy to rile up." she says and gently places a hand on Hot Rod's back to guide him away a short distance. "You're welcome to stay with him, but no loud noises or sensitive topics." she says, then mmphs. "There is usually some time after one of his episodes, so I should get recharged while I can." She adjusts the flow of sedative again, then starts toward the door. "If there are any emergencies, contact me." she says to the medic who is handling Hyperdrive, then blinks as she realizes it is Hyperdrive. "Oh! Hyperdrive! What happened?"

She doesn't really ignore Nightlash, but the flighty scout did make a point of staying off to the side and not drawing attention. Of course, if she does want to talk Healthpoint is still here.

Hot Rod has posed:
"Sensitive... topic?" Hot Rod gives Healthpoint a glazed over look. "How the hell am I supposed to know which topics are sensitive?"

He looks down at Blurr and grumbles. "Right when he was about to answer my question!" he mutters. "Scrap..." Then he looks up at Healthpoint again, but now she's attending Hyperdrive.

"Dammit, I guess I'll just have to see if anyone wrote a report about it," he announces loudly, "since none of you want to tell me what happened!" As if reading reports was a last resort, not an expected standard for all Autobots. And with that, he transforms and zooms out of the med bay, knocking over the bucket with all the dulled scalpels he'd used on the walls earlier. They tumble out with a clatter.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns as hewlthpoint starts in on him. "I fell..I mostly need this section uncrushed a little or use of a small prybar. Its not important."

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint is little help as to what topics might be sensitive. She really isn't sure herself. And, she has another patient to attend to. "You fell...from what?" she asks, even as she helps her fellow medic pull the crushed plating off of his arm and inspects the workings underneath. "Or, did something fall onto you?"

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive shakes his head a little. "just fell. how is everyine else doing?" He works on changing the subject.

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint gives Hyperdrive a bit of a 'huff, fine' look as he refuses to elaborate, then looks at his arm. "Well, it doesn't look too bad." she says. She waves the other medic off. There are more serious cases to deal with. Then she starts working on HD's dented plating. "As for everyone else...at least the mechs and femmes I've been around the last few days could definitely be doing better. Blurr is over there in critical condition, Swivel seems to be shaken up, and I am a few microns from a nervous breakdown myself. But, the war goes on and the casualties continue to come in, so I can't sit around feeling sorry for myself. Which is kind of good, because I'd probably be a depressed wreck now if I had any downtime."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns and reaches out to touch her arm. "im sorry ya came online ta this mess. Its not fair that someone new should have so much rhrown on them. i th ink you are doing a great job."

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint goes still at the touch, then vents heavily and smiles a bit. "Thanks...I'm probably harder on myself than anyone else is. But, even with all that's going on...I still want to thank you for saving me from that train. Even though I couldn't really tell, I think it's better to be out here and helping than frozen in some containment unit. Plus, I could be a Decepticon now instead." She pauses. "...of course, if they had gotten ahold of my frozen spark there's no telling who or what I would have come out as. It's...pretty scary to think about. Having...well, they could have done whatever they wanted with me. I could have ended up as Megatron's footrest or something."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive grins. "yer a constant reminder ta me that things done by someone insignificnt can still amount ta somethin worthwhile. Ijust want ta see you happy instead of all upset. otherwise i feel like i screwed up."

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint laughs a bit. "How can you count yourself as insignificant when you saved an entire train's worth of lives and supplies?" she asks. After making sure all the underlying servos and circuitry is working Healthpoint picks up the dented plating and gets to work on that, slowly shaping it back into its proper form. "I hope you've been alright as well. I haven't heard much about you since you saved me. What are your typical duties?"

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns. "im just a trainee...i really dont have a real job right now but theyre trainjng me ta be a scout. Been spendin more time away training cause some think im jinxed".

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint blinks at that. "Jinxed? Why would they think that?" she asks as she works. The crushed armor plate is starting to look more like an armor plate now, but there is still a deep dent.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive frowns " nearly everyone i trainingn withhas died. some of the mechs refuse to worxk w ith me"

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint frowns at that as well. "I see..." she says. She isn't sure what to say to that. Then she smiles. "Well, if you ever need a training partner, I would be happy to work with you." she says.

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive smiles a little. "that would be nice. aat least maybe if i wasnf alone i wouldn't be so likely to fall."

Healthpoint has posed:
Healthpoint smiles back and pushes her glasses up. "I'm sure my failures would overshadow yours anyway." she says before holding up the plate. "Well, here you go. All fixed up." she says. She sets the armor back in place, then peers. "You know...whatever it was you were doing that you don't want to talk about you should be more careful from now on." she says, scolding Hyperdrive in a rather sisterly kind of way. "I don't know about the rest of the Autobots, but I'd be pretty sad if something happened to you."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive smiles a little. "that would be nice. aat least maybe if i wasnf alone i wouldn't be so likely to fall."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive sighs. "if i cant prove myself here what good will i be against the cons. otherwise ill never be a real Autobot. " At least healthpoint hasnt had to train to be a bot.

Healthpoint has posed:
It was different, but Healthpoint definitely had her training. "Prove yourself? If you are still a cadet now, what were you when you held off two Decepticons to save that train? Just because you aren't in the news all the time doesn't mean you aren't a real Autobot." she says, then stands up once again. "But, if you are looking for chances to prove yourself, just ask one of the officers. There's always tasks that need done and not enough bots to do them. I'm sure you could earn some recognition easily enough." She stretches her arms over her head and vents softly. "I should go recharge. Remember, I'm always glad to help. So just let me know if there's something I can do for you."

Hyperdrive has posed:
Hyperdrive nods "Thanks again HP...." He sighs and heads out. At least healthpoint believed in him.
