Profile[]
Fade wants, more than anything, to be useful. However, he is either incapable or unwilling to determine what that means for himself: The functionalists said he was a currier, so he got a job as a currier; his boss determined that he’d be good at theft, so he became a thief. When his boss died in a Decepticon attack, he looked to what Blurr (whom he idolizes) did and pledged himself to the autoboots. Now his usefulness is defined by their wishes. Fade views Neutrals as being useless by choice. There’s a war going on, so it follows that to be useful you need to choose a side. He has more respect for committed Decepticons than he does for the neutrals because they choose to contribute rather than ‘sitting on the sidelines”. His loyalty to the autobots is more mercenary in nature than anything else. If they keep him occupied, he’ll stay. If he’s not on mission, don’t be surprised if he picks up a black market contract to fill his time, let him off the hook for too long, he may go see if the Decepticons have a use for him.
Background[]
Ostensibly, Fade got his start as a courier operating out of Tarn. This, however was merely a cover for his true occupation: a mercenary thief/spy for hire. Aside from his professional aspirations, (as a fellow hovercraft) he’s a bit of a Blurr admirer. So when the war broke out he learned that Blurr had joined the Autobots as an intelligence agent, Fade dropped everything and enlisted.
Skills & Abilities[]
He's got a pair of plasma pistols, and he knows how to use them. Because of his stature, he prefers to stay at range, but if he does get in a tangle, he can stun an enemy with his Sabatoge(R) abiltiy and get away using his speed. He is equipped with a surveillance drone, typically attached to his back in robot mode. When attached, this provides Fade with excellent awareness of his immediate surroundings by providing enhanced senses and 360 degree vision via rear facing optics. The unit also provides personal stealth. He can detach the drone to expand the range of his awareness.
Weaknesses[]
The downside to Fade's drone is that when it is detached, his ability to stealth is suspended and his awareness of his immediate surroundings is limited to what he can see with is forward optics. Due to his small size, he is vulnerable to impact damage. Additionally, his sensor array can be overwhelmed by sonic attacks. Corrosive attacks chew through his limited armor quite quickly.
